Can I brag about my little Valentine?

Hayden was the first one up (as usual) on Valentine's Day. I was in the kitchen having breakfast. He said "Happy Valentine's Day!" and gave me a hug.

He asked if he could play the Wii, and I said I was just about to use that TV to watch my Tivo of "What Not to Wear." He said, "Mom, you wait right there! Don't come in!"

A few minutes later, he invited me into the family room. He had gotten a blanket and pillow out of the closet and put them in my favorite TV watching spot on the couch. He also had gone up to his bedroom and gotten a stuffed animal off his bed -- a pink elephant that he knows used to be mine when I was a child -- so that I'd have a "friend" to hold. AND he had set up the Tivo so that the "What Not to Wear" episode was ready to go!

He told me "Happy Valentine's Day" again, then invited me to sit down. He sat with me to watch it (he loves that show) and kept the remote so he could take care of all fast forwarding through commercials. All I had to do was sit in comfort and enjoy!

    What a guy!!

What a sweetheart! He sure knows what you like! What a doll!

(Bless 'em, my DS and DSS made me *verrrrrrry* buttery toast and soggy cake for breakfast in bed. LOL! It was served with a smile and a "We're sorry it's so crummy-if you'd just let us use the microwave...!" LOL!)

That's sweet! Marcus told me not to get out of bed, and made me a breakfast of a banana, strawberries, chocolate and glass of OJ. Then Jon brought me a piece of toast :)

I guess our boys are really growing up!

y'all are just making me jealous.

The girls had been making valentine cards for everyone they could think of all week long, but this morning we had to rush rush rush, and get out of the house to drive them to daddy's, so Cassie tossed me her card (which was sweet and she put a lot of thought into it) while I was in the bathroom! I guess she learned that from daddy too. Holly had given me her card the night before, but I waited to open it.

I did have a nice lunch with Andrea and one of her friends. Driving over 200 miles on valentines day made it a long day.

    What sweet kids!

Timothy made me and dh Valentines. Sarah didn't make anything, but she's always very sweet to say thank you for her Valentines and her little box of candy.

The girls had their Valentine's party at school Friday, and we had to rush to the dr. and find out that Rosalie had strep :(.
When we stopped at the pharmacy to fill her prescription, Ella asked if she could have a dime to buy a surprise for me since they had my favorite candy. Rosalie missed that conversation, but did find the Tootsie Roll that Ella dropped in the car and apparently decided it would make a nice addition to my V-Day card.

    Meanwhile...

Rosalie went to work in the dining room after giving me repeated instructions to stay out. She said she was working on my surprise. Ella and I went through her cards out on the patio and she told me she'd somehow lost my candy. I reassured her I didn't mind, and that maybe it would turn up.

Well, WW III nearly erupted in my dininng room when it did turn up -- taped to the card Rosalie was making. I had to pull them out one at a time to hear their versions. Ella first told me that R had the Tootsie Roll and wouldn't give it back. Rosalie was upset that she'd spent so much time on her surprise for me and now (sob, sob, sob) "it won't be perfect anymore."I told Rosalie that Ella had actually bought the candy and she had to give it back. Then I suggested she look around for something else pretty or special -- maybe a flower from the yard or candy from the cabinet to put on her Valentine's card. O M G !
She completely fell apart! "Ella told you?!! She told you what I'm making?!!"

I said, "Rosalie, we've been making cards all week, tomorrow is Valentine's Day, and you were working at the table where we have all our supplies. I just made a good guess." (In a better moment, I would have remembered to pretend not to know what was going on.)

They woke us at 6:45 Saturday to deliver our Valentines -- one with about 8 camellias attached.

My favorites were actually theirs to each other. Ella's to Rosalie said "Sister, I love you. I will love you forever."

Awwww...these stories are so cute!! My boys did tell me Happy Valentine's Day and let both Ant and I sleep in. They said thank you for their cards. Last month, Michael actually made me a Valentine's Day card at school one day when the teacher gave them some free time in class. I took pics of it, I'll add it below, it's really cute. Ok, I only got the pic of the inside added, but it's the best part. :D
