can BF babies overeat?

just wondering how much is spit up from reflux and if LO's were able to overeat

 

NOpe, they cannot overeat. I would nurse, then interupt session to burp then nurse again. Sometimes an air bubble can bring the milk back up.

Nope. They can, however, use you for a pacifier. I would pop them off if the sucking changed over to a flutter suck to see if they were truly still eating (resulting in crying) or using me (resulting in falling asleep).

The first 6 weeks is a nursing blur then it should settle down some.

 

well... my dd used to spit up about her whole session it seemed... It wasn't all the time or even every day. I started noticing it was when she was kept nursing forever. Both of mine got very efficient, and at some point I realized that if she nursed for more than 7 min. she was going to throw it all up. She didn't have reflux. and the dr. wasn't worried about it, but I was tired of getting large spit up on! haha! anyway, if I took her off at the 7min. mark it wasn't like she was still hungry or anything, so somehow try to pay attention and see if you can figure it out. good luck!

 

Reflux is also largely OVER diagnosed in babies... I would think about diet intolerances such as dairy.... or if you have an overactive letdown or oversupply?
