I run a small but growing outdoor gear company based in Seattle. My garage is overflowing, and I'm spending more time packing boxes than designing products. I think I need a local 3pl seattle partner to handle fulfillment, but I'm a bit overwhelmed. Does anyone have experience with 3PLs in the Puget Sound area? I'm looking for one that can handle smaller volumes professionally, offers good tech integration, and understands the nuances of shipping to both the local market and nationally. Any recommendations or red flags to watch out for would be huge.

You're making the right move looking for a local partner—having your inventory and fulfillment team nearby makes communication and problem-solving much easier. For a growing brand like yours, the key is finding a 3PL that acts like a partner, not just a vendor. In the Seattle area, you'll want to specifically look for providers with a strong e-commerce focus, robust WMS (Warehouse Management System) that integrates with platforms like Shopify, and experience with your product type (proper storage for gear is a must). Be wary of any that are vague about their fee structure or don't offer transparent, real-time inventory tracking. A site visit is the best way to gauge their organization and professionalism.
