Okay, so they do eat a little more than fruit and goldfish, but I swear, after a few bites of toast or sandwich or a couple peas, they just want fruit or yogert...

    anyone else experiencing this?

My two went through cycles like that and it was maddening!! :grr: But they survived and are doing well. :D They won't let themselves starve, and they usually eat more when going through a growth spurt, so it does even out in the end.

My two went through the phase where they would only sustain on certain things. We kept offering a variety of foods and after some time, they did try other things. One of the things that helped was giving them items they could dip (food to dip into ketchup, ranch dressing, spinich dip, etc).

Fruit and goldfish are mainstays of our diet too. Also hotdogs, ketchup (often plain, eaten directly with a fork) and cheese.

Recent finding - Lunchables with the crackers, ham and cheese are very popular as is chef boyardee sausage ravioli. But yes, usually we are struggling to find something to eat.

That's about all my kids eat. I do try to give them cereal instead of the goldfish, since it's fortified :). I know, still not great, but I like to think they are getting more vitamins that way. I also give vitamin supplements, and continue to offer a wide variety of foods.

That's basically what my boys live off of. They will also eat some cereal for breakfast and chicken for dinner but not much else. They would only eat fishy crackers and fruit all day every day if I let them.

The way I worked around it is that I offer then fruit with the rest of the meal. Yeah, they eat the fruit first, but then they go back to the rest usually if they're still hungry.
