My grandsons are already 9-1/2 months old. Where has the time gone???

These are the cutest babies in the world (Me? Biased??? No way!) so I wanted to share some pictures of them taken this weekend, just hanging out at home and enjoying their very first "real" spaghetti meal.

    I hope this link works!

I love the spaghetti pics! Not much to do in that situation besides take 'em out and hose 'em down, LOL.

    Thanks for sharing these!!

Kathy they are so precious. Don't you just want to squeeze them so tight. Are you going to keep them for your daughter when she has the new baby? If you do, I know you'll be spoiling them rotten, but like I tell my husband when he tells me I spoil the boys rotten - "No I don't, They always smell like that - sweet as sugar". Your grandchildren are so cute.

I've got to learn how to upload pictures onto the computer from my camera. I have a USB cord for my camera, but I only have the one USB port that I know of on my computer and it's hooked to my modem so I've never tried before.

Thanks, Kathy! I'd love to see pics of your sweet little guys so get cracking on that computer know-how!

DD lives about five hours away from us and we don't really have a plan in place yet for when the baby comes. I know that we'll be there while she's in the hospital (repeat c-section so she'll be there a few days) and babysit during the day, possibly at night as well if her BF wants to stay with her like he did last time. We don't stay at their house when we visit so that's still up in the air. I've told DD I'd be happy to watch the boys during the day and stay with her at the hospital at night but frankly I don't know if I have that much stamina. We'll play that by ear, but we'll definitely be around.

DH and I have offered to bring the boys back home with us for a week after she is home from the hospital so she can get some rest and have some bonding time with the new baby. She has said she may take us up on that, but she's not fond of the thought of not seeing the twins for a week.

After that, I'm not sure how much time I'll spend there. I will probably be back and forth pretty often. Her BF's family doesn't help at all, they've only seen the twins a few times, so any family support will be from us. We are hoping that DD and family will move closer to us this next summer. They're seriously considering it. DH and I may buy a small house that they can rent from us. It won't be like having them next door (I'm so jealous of you!) but it will be much better than 350 miles away!!!!

How is your daughter feeling? I can't remember when her baby is due, but I believe she's not as far along as my DD (due in late May). Do you know yet if she's having a boy or a girl? Hope everything's going well for her!

My daughter is due mid August so she's about 2 1/2 months behind. Our boys are also a little bit older. They turned 11 months old today. Next month's visit they'll do another ultrasound and they should be able to tell us whether girl or boy. My daughter is hoping for a girl, but I just want a healthy baby. Everyone is trying to persuade me to hope for a granddaughter, but I say if I it is what it is and no wishing or hoping changes it, so I'm just thrilled with whatever comes.

I love the fact that they built next door to us. It does make it convenient. We gave them several options for property - the one next door not included, because we didn't think they would want to build that close to us. They came to us and asked us if we would give them that lot instead. We were a little shocked. Our daughter and son in law are also very generous with their time and allowing the boys to stay with us and visit. In fact they call my husband everynight at bedtime so he can come and help put the boys down. He lives for rocking the babies to sleep. It's funny because they'll go down just as easily if you lay them in their crib, but he loves that time holding them and cuddling them. It's ironic that the one named for him is also his spitting image when he was a baby. I

f your daughter could move closer it would be wonderful. It sounds like you have a great relationship with her. We've given our oldest daughter a lot near us to build on as well. She lives a couple of hours away and she wants to get back and be near the babies as well. She tries to come home each weekend to see them and she calls them everyday. They love talking on the phone to her. She's coming on on Friday this weekend, because it will be the boys first trip to a Mardi Gras Parade. We always took the girls when they were young and the entire family would come along - aunts, uncles, etc. and form a human barricade around the girls. We'll all be doing that Friday night with the boys.
We get to do so much because the boys are so close. I really do hope your daughter chooses to move closer. Since the two of you get along so well, I know it would work out.

Keep me informed about the boys and their new baby. Take care.

    Kathy
