I recieved news today that my younger brother died in an auto accident today. Since then my stomache has been extremely tight. Its not like BH I''ve felt in the past. Now its like constant tightness and pain. I am not sure if it is just b/c I am so emmotional right now and not to worry or if I should be doing something about it. I was planning to call Dr 1st thing in the morning. . . just wondered if anyone had any thoughts. I can barely think straight.

I am very sorry about the death of your young brother. May God rest his soul in peace.

I know someone who due to grief over death in her close family, had to go on preterm labor while on 6th month of pregnancy.

Fortunately you're in a more progressive stage of your pregnancy.

Keep us updated about what the Dr. will tell you.

Oh my, I am so so sorry to hear about your brother. :( Please know you and your family are in my thoughts.

As for the contractions, I do believe that your emotions and stress can definately cause contractions. I know when ever I got upset is when I'd get the most contractions {BH}. I would suggest calling your doctor and letting him know about this.

I am so sorry for the loss of your brother.  I also agree that stress can cause contractions. I think it would be a good idea to call your OB and tell him/her about this. Again, I am very sorry.

I agree with pp that a lot of stress can cause PTL. News of someone close to you passing unexpectedly can definitely do this. I'm so very sorry for your loss . You and your family are in my prayers .

Thank you for your thoughts- I went to the dr. todayand they said the stress caused contractions, while they were the real deal, I was not in labor and did not appear to be going into labor anytime soon. I was told to rest and take it easy as much as possible. It made me feel better. Its hard enough to deal with the grief and its another thing to worry about going into premature labor too. Espically since my Dh is not expected home for another week.

I really appriciate the thoughts and prayers. Thank you!

I am sorry for your loss...Find comfort in knowing that he is in a better place. I lost my father to an accident a few years ago and just lost my mom in October. Whether it was yesterday or years ago, the loss of a loved one is never easy. And we must be a rock for those of us that are left behind. Just know that you have someone watching over you and your babies that loves you and you love as well. Don't let the stress get the best of you. Your husband will be with you in a few days. Your babies NEED you now. They know not of why your hurting, but don't get them here any earlier than they have to be...
