Camdyn and Kyle are here

My babies arrived on 4/23 at 6:29 and 6:30 pm. I had just been at my NST and OB apt and returned home when my water broke. My OB had said that I was maybe 1 centimeter dialated and not effaced. He said that the babies were doing well and we should have no problem making it to my 39 week induction date. We had set up an apt for an u/s on the next tuesday. I drove home (my DH had an apt and had left after the NST. This is the first time I had driven in months). I was talking to my DD on the phone when I felt this sharp pain and fluid down my leg. I thought maybe I had needed to go to the bathroom so I got up and had this big gush of liquid. I told my DD I thought my water broke and I had to go. I called my dr office and couldn't get through so I called L&D and they told me to come back in. I tried to reach my DH as he wasn't back yet and got his voice mail. I got myself ready to go, called my dad and mom on the way and then eventually reached DH. We were going to have to meet at the hospital, luckily I we had already put my bags in my truck. When I arrived at the hospital they did an u/s and found the twins were both still breech so that meant c/s. My DH arrived in time to go to the OR and have the babies. The spinal wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was a little strange at times because you can't feel your legs and the pressure from them getting the babies out makes it hard to breathe occasionally. It was very exciting, we hadn't found out the gender of our babies before hand, so it was the moment we were waiting so long for. At 6:29 out came Baby A, a girl (Camdyn Whitney) weighing 4.12 and 17 3/4 long. Then at 6:30 came Baby B, a boy (Kyle James) weighing 4.15 and 19 long. Camdyn had low blood sugar so they took her to the nursery and gave her formula to bring it up and she had a little bit of jaundice. Kyle had no problems. Neither had any NICU time and were in our room the whole time. Camdyn's jaundice was fine and is cleared up now. I had a lot of nausea and threw up after the surgery. I did not feel well most of the time I was there so I was glad to go home on Sunday evening. The babies are working on breast feeding and we are working on trying to get them to sleep more at night. We are all doing well and we are so happy. We are truly blessed.

Thank you all so much. All the discomfort and uncertainty is so worth it in the end. You get such a gift that will be there for a lifetime. I don't think I would have gone through it nearly as well without the support of all of you wonderful women on this website. You are all the best.
