I'm sorry for repeating a topic that has been discussed but I went through pages and pages of posts and couldn't find the post about cabanas.

I need a good cabana to bring to the beach. We plan to head to the beach a few times this summer with the girls and need some protection. I would like something big enough that I can sit under it with them and also something that will sustain a windy day since we have lots of those up here! Thanks everyone.

I just came back from a week at the beach. I looked into buying a cabana before we left and I decided it wasn't worth the effort because setting them up is like setting up a regular tent (like when you go camping). I couldn't find any "pop up" ones like they have in smaller versions. We rented an umbrella every day and that worked out very well. I would rent an umbrella if you can, or bring one with you. If you find a big cabana that pops up, let me know!!!

I bought this one before the girls were born and used it a lot last summer. I plan on using it this summer also. It was so easy to use takes a couple secs to set up and it has a zipper so they can crawl in and out.

I also really like this one too. I'm thinking about getting this for next summer.

We go to the river & lake regularly during the summer, and we have something called an EZ up. Not as stylish as a cabana, but it sure works! I love it b/c it's big enough for the babies & a couple adults to sit under.

I've seen them all over; I'm pretty sure if you call your local sporting goods store they should have them. Another option would be something like this:

We have the "one step ahead" one also, and LOVE it. Very easy to use, big enough, can be weighted down with sand...

It is awesome! It never blows away because the wind doesn't get trapped underneath (which happend a lot with other canopies we tried and umbrellas too.) We can all get under it which means all day at the beach, where before we'd have to go in after a few hours because we were getting burned. (Lots of fair skin folks in my family.) It is well worth the money. My brother was able to use it for his daughter's 1 year birthday in July so that they could have the party outside. Just enough space to setup a table and chairs to people can eat outside without roasting. (We leave in SC, so summers are HOT.)

That is the one we use also for the beach and all of the sports that the older kids are involved in.
