Ok, I have a question. why would my doctor tell me that I will more than likely be having a c-section? She told me because my three previous pregnancies were pretty big that she is going to do a c-section to be on the safe side. Now I think that is a premature thing to say because I feel unless I'm presenting with some kind of complications than I should have the chance of a vag delivery. Last week at my u/s the tech told me that they were both head down and they would more than likely stay that way. Next week is my next u/s and I have a fear that they are going to be about 5 pds., last week they were 3.1 pds. a piece and the tech told me they can grow up to a pound a week until the due date and that freaks me out. My doctor told me that she wants me to keep baking until atleast 36 wks. to be on the safe side. Now until I joined this site I always thought that the average size for multiples were normally between 5-6 something pounds.. I told my doctor that I don't think I'm going to make my June 10th due date because everyday all day since I was 17 wks prego I have been having contractions. Now my last doc. appt. I was give terbuline to stop stop them I was told to tak ethem twice a day now I was told yesterday to take them three times a day and I really don't know why I am taking them because I still have the contractions. Now usually when I have them it's not painful just takes my breath away and my stomach is really hard as a brick. Now the other day I had them The same thing but this time I was feeling a lot of pressure in my lower vagi parts the kind that you get when you are in labor. My doc. also told me that in two weeks I'm going to start getting stress test done to make sure everything is fine. Now with my luck with stress test, everytime I'm hooked up on that darn machine I have nothing but constant activity. Now I'm on a 5week count down and as long as I keep them cooking until after my b-day on May 7th which on May 11th will be the last day of the 5th week I will be very happy. :itwins_boys:

babies can change position up until the last minute...maybe your doctor was just preparing you - in case.... or maybe your doctor feels more comfortable doing a c --- I just had one 10 days ago...and this was my 3rd c-section...it is never a fun recovery...good luck - I would talk with your doctor, on a personal level.

Baby B flipped twice for me...once from breech to head down, and then back to breech. This all happened about week 33 for me. I delivered via C-section at 35w4d. I opted for a C-section because my doctor was more comfortable with it - especially with Baby B being breech. However, my doctor also told me that if he had been head down, he still would've been more comfortable with a C. He said that often Baby A can be delivered vaginally and Baby B can turn from being head down during Baby A's delivery. Then there's the risk of having to do an emergency C - thus having that recovery on top of a vaginal recovery. I know that there are many women who have had very successful vaginal deliveries, even with one baby breech. I just wanted to share my experience! I've never regretted my decision.

My baby A flipped from head down to butt down every u/s I had! I chose to have a csection because I didnt want to labor AND have a csection... but that was a personal decision. If you want to labor and the babies are presented the right way, there is no reason why you shouldnt! Just talk to your doc about what you want!

I think some docs are just more comfortable doing c-sec. It's easy and fast FOR THEM! I'm very adamant that I want a vag birth if I can. My OB said as long as Baby A was head down I could do it. That Baby B could be turned or delivered breech once Baby A cleared the way. From my research, I found 50% of twins were delivered vaginally and 50% c-section. I also found there is only a 5% risk of needing a c-sec for the 2nd twin after the first was delivered vaginally.

I am 35 + 4 days pregnant - and both babies had been head down since 20 weeks. At 35 weeks - I had an ultrasound to review growth - and they are both now Transverse (no wonder my heartburn has all but disappeared)..... Not happy at all.... was hoping for another natural vaginal birth..... I am remaining positive that they will revert to a head down position so I can avoid a C-section at all costs.

    Good luck :D
