I've been dilated for a few weeks and the babies have been vertex/vertex so most of my conversation with my doctor has been about vaginal delivery. Today I was 3.5cm so I was so excited that it was happening soon, though still hoping for maybe another week for the babies' sake. However, my doctor was concerned that the MFM report from last week said Baby B was transverse. So she did a quick u/s and sure enough, baby B was face up and completely transverse. 10 minutes later the same baby was head down again, but she is able to move so much because I have polyhydramnios. Its like she has her own little swimming pool and she's putting on a show. She was flipping all over. My doctor doesn't want to take a chance that I'll go into labor and end up with an emergency cesarean or a vaginal plus a cesarean, so she scheduled a C for this coming Thursday at 7:30am (I'll be exactly 36 weeks).

So I'm really relieved to know when this is happening, and really really happy that I soon won't be pregnant anymore. And I definitely really trust my doctor. However, I'm suddenly terrified for the babies. I suddenly hate the idea of being separated from them in any way. Will they be okay? 36 weeks is right on the cusp, and I know a vaginal birth is better for their breathing. I'm also scared to death about the surgery and recovery. And all of that is compounded by the reality that I WILL BE A PARENT in a little more than 24 hours (God willing)!!! What? That's crazy! Aggghhh!!!!

I know you are worried, but try to take it easy. I had my girls by C at 35 weeks, and although I wasn't with them, my hubby got to carry them out of the OR and into the nursery. They needed no NICU and were totally fine and they were with me in my room not too long after I was fixed up. My husband and family was able to see everything that was being done to them in the nursery, so it was quite the experience for them. Although I missed out on it, at least the girls had their daddy with them.

I know how scary it can be but, a c-section isn't really all that bad! Just try to relax and get some rest and before you know it you will get to see you new little babies for the first time :)
    Best Wishes!

Hang in there. The emotional roller coaster you are going through is absolutely normal. Just take it easy today and relax, put your feet up and listen to good music. I can't wait to hear how everything goes tomorrow and can't wait to see the pics. Good Luck!

good luck with the section...i have one scheduled in just over 2 weeks (2 weeks and 2 days to be exact) and i've never had one, so i'm scared of that...i'd be hesitant about them being born at 36 weeks too, however i DO understand why the doc wants to do it NOW...my oldest son kept turning breech all the way up til he was born...he flipped the night before my induction so he was head down again, however because he kept flipping, as soon as i hit 40 weeks, we were inducing to keep it more controlled...i have no advice about caring for the babies or yourself after the surgery...i've never had twins or surgery..i can say it will work itself out, you just have to give it time...the first few months will be crazy and overwhelming but it will calm down....prayers and blessings tomorrow!
