C-section question

Discussion in 'The First Year' started by ashleyandalexmom, Jan 10, 2007.

When should I expect to regain feeling around my incision site. I know this isnt about twins, but thats where they came out of. Its been 4 months.

All of my children are very close in age so its been one section after another, I have never gotten to the point of feeling it again. Some people take a year to regain feelings, some never do.

[IMG]That made me laugh!! It is a question about twins!!

I still have some numbness, weird sensations, at my incision, and my twins are 7 months. I think it's pretty normal, many of us have it! [IMG]

I still have numbness around my incision too. I asked my doctor about this a few months ago and she said it takes a full year for an incision to completely heal (nerves and all) and that it's normal to have nubmness for that long!

Yes it takes a really really long time. It has been 22 months for me and I still have weird things sometimes. Sometimes it itches and you can't stop the itch. Does that make sense? It's like I can't really find the spot to scratch...it is too weird. It still bothers me sometimes too to bring my knees to my chest, etc. It takes a while.

I have had 6 c-sections the first being in 1992 and have NEVER gotten full/normal feeling back.......this is NOT due to having so many of them (I asked my doctor) he said that it is a common side effect of that type of surgery. My twins are 14.5 months old and still not normal feeling in that area.

I asked my doctor about it and she said that the feeling may never come back completely.

That really cracked me up for some reason. If you post something in the wrong forum, we move it - that's all, you don't get in trouble or anything. [IMG]

I still have all kinds of weird things happening with my incision site. It's numb, it's itchy, it feels like something is about to rip lose, it tingles, and it just plain aches, often all in one day. I've heard it takes at least a year before stuff feels close to normal.

I'm just now getting sensation back in some parts of my incision, while other parts are still a bit numb. I wouldn't worry.

I had an appendectomy 15 years ago, which is a surgery very similar to a c-section... they have to cut through the same layers. I still don't have feeling around it and I can't stand it being touched. I hate my c-section scar too. It feels funny all the time and I don't expect to have full feeling in it. Like pp, I think it's normal.

I think mine stopped feeling numb and tingly around 9 months PP. I'm not sure though, because I hated the feeling of touching it, so I just never did. I'm poking at it now (trying to answer this question) and it seems to feel pretty normal though!

I still had a couple of very small places right on the incision line that were numb from my first c-section after almost 3 years. I still have a little numbness from this time and my babies are almost 6 months old.
