    Hello, girls
I just want to vent a little.
I just return from my OB appointment and he said NO WAY FOR VBAC.
because I had previous c-section and carring twins now. so we have a date now 6/30/09 not time yet. I would be 37w3d
of couse the date is set if I will not go to labor before. and now I feel nervous. first this is c-section again, next Isn't it early? might be I need to ask him for another week or not?

please tell me that I am crazy thinking about that...

    yes!!

    J/K!

I think it is too early to get worked up about such things. I would play it by ear adn if you get a week from your c-sec date adn still want to push it back, I would talk to him about it. You could easily go on your own before then. Full term for twins is considered to be 36-37 weeks so that sounds just right to me. Until then, I wouldn't give it a second thought. Life is just too short! to spend you time on things that may never happen.

I had a c/s at 37 wk, 1 day for the same reasons. That and I was nowhere near labor. It wasn't safe to induce because there was too great a risk of rupture because it was twins (I did have a VBAC w/DS2, after an ER c/s w/DS1). I had no problems, the babies had no problems, we were all fine, no NICU. I was nursing one of them as soon as I was sewn up, and the other just had to have her lungs cleared a bit (common w/c-sections) and then she was able to nurse, too. My dr would have let me go to 38 wks, but I am only 5'1" and ran out of room for the amniotic fluid, which would have been dangerous for the babies. A rupture during a vaginal birth could even lead to fatalities, and I certainly did not want to risk that.

Not knowing any details, your dr's approach seems reasonable. If you go into labor before that, maybe you will deliver vaginally after all. For my part I'd rather keep them in longer and have the c/s, because it's safer for them.

    HTH!

I only had 1 c-section and that was with the boys but I wanted to send hugs  and say its never too early to have a plan in motion. Did he give you a reason for no vbac or is it the doctors and hospitals rule. I know at my hospital and others here in Maine they will not do vbacs at all.

the reason for c-section because I had previous c-section and he doesn't wnat the uterus rupture and it can cause the mother death and babies death.
he said he will never do that.

I am sure closer to 37 weeks I will be happy that it is almost there... with my DS i had c-section at 39w1d and had no near the labor...

A c-section is my only option this time because I had two prior c-sections. Initially my OB wanted to schedule it for 37 weeks, but I pushed for a later date and am now scheduled for 38 weeks and 4 days. The reason he agreed to the later date was because I never went into labor with my other two, despite my second being born just shy of 40 weeks. In fact, my cervix has never softened or dialated despite having two full term kids. I reminded my OB of that and asked that I be allowed to go as long as possible and he agreed with the stipulation I agree to move up the date if any issues arise. So it can't hurt to talk about it with your doctor.

FWIW - even though it didn't work out, my OB completely supported my plans to have a vbac last time, but he had said that if I had been pregnant with the twins then he wouldn't have agreed to it.

 I am sorry that VBAC isn't going to be an option for you. I agree that you should just play it by ear and see how things go. Good Luck!!

I cant comment on the C-section part but as for the timing of it:

I was induced at 37weeks exactly. My doctor normally does induction at 38.5 weeks but agreed to 37 because I needed an end in sight and honestly, she never thought Id carry that long!
I had 2 healthy babies and we all left less than 48 hours later. See how you feel and I agree your doctor should keep options in mind.
