C section incision ?

Just wondering what you had and how is the scar? I had dermabomd(glue) with my last c but now my OB uses only staples and I'm scared of having them removed? My scar from the glue healed great but my OB says staples Are even better? What did you have ? Anyone have more than one type?

 

I actually just had mine removed yesterday from my c-sec last Tuesday. It didn't hurt, the nurse and I talked and joked around the whole time she did it. I did feel a small, tiny burn sensation each time she pulled one out but it was not painful enough for me to even really cringe at. Just minor discomfort.

 

I think I had some stitches internally, but on the outside incision I just had the butterfly stitches (maybe along with glue?). There isn't much of a scar there. I will admit, I was scared to pull the tape off like I might pop open! :rotflmbo: It healed great for me. I had no problems.

 

I had staples both times, per my OB's recommendation. I have almost no scar - and it healed very nicely. It was a little painful, and I thought it was the staples, but my OB actually had the staples removed before I left the hospital (on Monday and surgery was on Friday), and it still hurt, so I figured out it was just the pain of the incision. I don't think I had the staples out with the first one until my 1 week postpartum check-up.

 

I had dissolvable stitches.

I had staples when I had an appendectomy and I hated having to get them removed.

 

I had internal stitches and steristrips (butterfly bandages) on the outside.

 

Both of my OBs preferred stitches for all three c-sections - my scar looks excellent!

 

I had staples this time -- I could hardly feel them being taken out. I was still on some heavy meds, that probably helped. But really it was nothing. I don't remember what I had last time, my husband thinks they were also staples.

 

I had staples and they did not hurt when they were removed.
