My blood is a little thicker, so I have to take baby aspirin everyday. I forget to ask my OB, and I just going to see him next thursday (probably i have to call him monday). Does anybody know if I should stop taking BA before c-section? I have my c-section sheduled for march 28th, so probably I need to stop taking a few days before!

My husband takes a prescription blood thinner and before surgery he does have to stop taking it a few days early. His is much stronger than baby aspirin and he only needs a few days off of it, so if you call Monday you have plenty of time to ask.

I would def make sure and check! I work in a surgery center and we have our patients stop before surgery but only if the doctor that prescribes it says it's ok. It does take several days to get out of your system so def ask!

This is a great question. I too am on one baby aspirin a day we did a FET and my RE wants me to continue the baby aspirin my entire pregnancy. I asked the nurse practitioner at my last appointment (I was supposed to see a dr but the dr was called to the hospital just before my appointment!) the nurse practioner told me that a baby aspirin is such a low dose that it probably would not make a big difference if I kept taking it all the way to my scheduled c section. My thing is that I lost a lot of blood during my 1st c section and had to be put on iron pills at that time I was not on baby aspirin so I figure it would be better to come off of it?? I have an appointment tomorrow and I am going to ask a dr.

I take BA during pg due to having MTHFR mutations. I did not have to stop before a c/s. Not that I really had a choice, the babies were coming no matter what. But it's better to not have a clot. That is serious for both mama and baby/babies.
