I have delivered 3 boys all natural. I need to know what is going to be the most comfortable to wear after the C-section with the girls? Should I wear under the belly sweats or over the belly ones. Delivering naturally it was easy, just nothing too tight. But I do not know what to epect with the C-Section. I know I can wear a robe and PJs at the hospital but I am talking about leaving the hospital! What did you do? Or should I just bring both just in case?

I am trying to figure out what to pack for the hospital!!!

I went with over the belly sweats. Nothing too tight in case it slipped down a little, but I never seemed to have that problem. I had a pair of maternity leggings that I wore home from the hospital.

I probably wouldn't get something that was under-belly b/c that's where your incision will be. I would go with something comfy...like sweats or something that is made of cotton and that can be hiked up over your belly. YOu want to have as MUCH comfort as possible!

I wore the same clothes I went in wearing -- maternity yoga pants (very very stretchy) and a maternity top. I had so much gas and swelling that my stomach was almost the same size after the delivery as it was before. Plus, those pants were just awesome.

Specifically re: sweats, I'd say over the belly is probably better, since your incision will be at the bottom of your belly.

i wore over-the-belly men's XL sweats so they wouldn't squeeze my belly. i still wear them (tho i have to tie them now to tighten them yay! ) cuz they're so comfy!

Definitely OVER the belly. And make sure you have some good "grannie" panties too.

I wore one of those Old Navy Velour sweat suits home and the pants tied right at my belly button. They were really comfortable.

Me too. In fact, I lived in them while on bedrest and then during that first 4 weeks or so while at home.

Definitely over the belly. And - in the hospital post surgery they will give you what looks like the world's largest maxi pad (which you'll need) and mesh panties. You 'll look at them and think 'huh?!" - but they will turn out to be your best friends. Make friends w/the nurses and score some extras; i wore mine at home for about six weeks post partum. I kept a pair - i still look on them fondly. DH and I used to joke about how sexy they were - NOT!

I wore a dress out of the hospital. It was just a cotton casual dress from Old Navy. The days following I wore a lot of under the belly, low rise sweats but I did pull them over the scar. Best wishes.

Good news, my husband works with the husband of a girl who works at the hospital we are delivering at, she has already let all the nurses know who we are and approximately when we are delivering. So when we had our tour everyone was like you are the friends of Patty's having twins, hope to see you when you deliver. So it is comforting to know someone is already looking out for us!!
