March 1st will be our last EI session! Yeah! A year ago the boys had global 30-45% delays. As of now they have a 25% speech delay and Aiden has a 9% OT delay (coloring). I could continue but I dislike the ST and technically under 30% isn't considered delayed. I'm just so proud of their improvement over the past year! We'll continue to work on things ourselves and they boys will start an Early Three preschool in the fall, which should help language skills. YEAH! There is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Wow that's great! Brody gets to "graduate" EI then immediately starts preschool on his 3rd birthday. The longer I'm with his teacher, the more I'd like to find another, but since we're so close (April 23rd) I figure I can hold out a bit longer. I'm glad there was such a great change for your boys!
That's wonderful news! I'm curious - did you have gross motor delays at one year, like not crawling, cruising, or pulling up? My girls are having an assessment done today to see if they qualify for EI. Neither one is crawling, or getting around in any other way. They just had their first birthday about a week ago, but their adjusted age is 10.5 months. I know every child is different, but I'm wondering if having them see a PT for gross motor delays will help them improve quickly? Thanks!
Congrats!!! That is so exciting! My boys are in speech therapy for expressive delays. I think they are improving by the day. But I think they will be in early preschool through the school too by age 3. So they start on their 3rd bday even if its in the middle of the school year?

At a year old Noah could barely sit, stand, and wasn't walking at all. He could crawl like crazy though. He didn't walk until 19 months, and even then it took a while for him to be comfortable with it. I know that the PT made a huge difference for him, and I'm recommend it. It doesn't hurt at all, and if you change your mind, you can also discontinue.

If you're still in EI at the 3rd birthday, yes, you'd go into preschool at the 3rd birthday. We are doing an Early 3's class that is for the kids that turn 3 between 9/2 and 2/1. The cut off for the reg 3's class is 3 by 9/1.
