It's been a long time coming. I wanted to take them away from the girls when they were about 6 months, but I got suckered into letting them have one by DH and MIL. UGH...should have went with my gut. Since they were 9 months old they have only had them during naps and bedtime. Yesterday, while watching one of their videos, they saw a baby with a binky in it's mouth and they went ballistic! I mean, it took me nearly 30 minutes to calm both of them down -- it was seriously a HUGE deal! I thought to myself that enough was enough and called DH to let him know that this was the weekend we needed to be rid of them forever! Well, nap time wasn't so bad. They stopped crying after 10 minutes. Bedtime was a whole different story. It took them almost an hour to fall asleep. Aurielle is out, but Isabelle will not sleep. She keeps waking up and screaming for me. I have no idea what to do here. Part of me wants to give in and the other part is saying stick to my guns but I cannot stand to hear her crying. It makes me feel horrible, but also drives me crazy. WWYD?

I know it's hard to hear them cry but if you are serious about getting rid of the paci then I would stick to your guns. Good luck!

i agree with Nancy - giving it back at this point is only going to make the whole process longer & harder.

on the other, if you've changed your mind & would like to put it off & try again in a couple of weeks/months, then go ahead & give it back.

Thank you. She finally stopped crying and it seems like she's going to be out for the rest of the night. Fingers crossed.
