I complained about my girls on the bus in this thread. Figured I would ask your opinion on the latest bus issues. Yesterday Dani comes off the bus holding her pink feather that was in her hair looking upset. Before I can ask her, she says that another girl on the bus pulled it out of her hair. She has had the feather in her hair for a while so it was probably weak, but the other girl had to touch her to make it fall out.
Either last week or 2 week ago, Dani came off the bus upset saying something about pulling earings out. When she calmed down, I spoke to her and the girls had said something about pulling Dasni's earrings out. She did not touch her. I sopke to the bus driver. I told her that I wanted to speak to her before I called and spoke to the assitant principial. i called and left a message for him earlier today. I'm waiting for the asstiant principal to call me back

I hate bus issues. It's stupid and annoying. Some parents just need to have a tighter reign on their kids. We've had a few bus issues too. I mostly tell the girls to stay away from those causing the problems, and not to allow anyone to hurt them. You know, the whole sticks and stones thing. Anyway, some kids are just big fat bullies, and I am sorry Dani keeps getting bothered. I hope the asst principal is able to sort through it and stop it from happening again.

It sounds like to me the bus driver isn't handling things appropriately. The girls' bus driver does not allow the girls to sit anywhere except the front. All big kids in the back. The driver has told me repeatedly if I ever have a problem just let her know and it would be taken care of immediately. Thank the Lord we have had no issues, but I have no doubt if we did, it would be handled appropriately. I hated the bus growing up. I had a driver with no backbone and no discipline. Bullies ran rampid and all kinds of stuff went on. I, personally, think you have already discussed problems with the driver and they obviously have not been taken care of and the call to the assistant principal is a good move.

Almost as soon as I hit send, the assistant principal called me back. The bus driver has told the AP that most of the trouble from this girl is caused when they get to school but before they are allow off the bus. So this girl gets to get off the bus and wait inside the school. The AP pulled Dani and this girl out of class to talk to them. They are in the same class. I think he spoke to them together, which means that Dani didn't tell him all the stuff that the other girl has been doing. Dani has to pick a new assigned seat. The AP is going to go on the bus in the morning to help her pick it out. I think Dani said she might move and sit with boy in first grade and a boy in kindergarten, but it is either right across from where she is currently siting or right in front of it.
