Mine hate if they have to burp mid bottle, enough that if we do that to them, they usually won't finish the second half. So we just let them finish the whole bottle in one shot. Most of the time they just burp on their own without help from us.

We dealt with alot of gass at first because of this but as time as passed they have gass only on occasion.

So when did you stop burping mid bottle and when did you stop burping them altogether?

    TIA

With my DD we stopped around 5/6 months, for the same reason you mentioned, she would get mad at us stopping her "flow" and not drink the rest of the bottle. Plus it was taking really long, so we took it as a sign she didn't really need to burp. My DS had reflux, so we stopped at 9 months, he would have wanted it sooner but it was a must with him or he would have threw up. :icon_biggrin:

We just started doing that. If we dared to stop mid bottle for a burp, they would not take the rest of the bottle. I learned my lesson quick!

We stopped burping at night around 2 months. We also stopped burping mid bottle around that time during the day. We recently stopped burping after every bottle. We just sit them on our laps and they let out a big burp within a few minutes. I'm guessing once they can sit unassisted we'll be able to plop them on their bottoms to play and the burps will come up on their own.

My DD has reflux too so I was concerned for a while but I rather get her to eat since she wasn't eating nearly what she needed each day. I would just deal with the gas later. Although it was a catch 22 because she would be miserable to burp and not finish or have pain later from gas. She hardly spit up but she has reflux just the same.

I still burp Katie... she pulls the bottle out of her mouth and then she burps.

Mine burp on their own same as pp said abouth the mid bottle thing. DS had reflux. I think he has outgrown it because he is fine, He never took meds for it either so I do think they can outgrow it. Anyway DD was always really gassy with a tight belly but now she is fine most times as long as she is sitting up she burps on her own(or farts) Either way she is okay. You know your child I think you know when they are ready or when they will be alright doing it on their own.
    Good Luck

I stopped after just a few months because my girls were doing the same thing...getting angry and not finishing. We burped for a long time, I would say probably until around 8 months when they started moving a bit more and would burp by moving.
