When should you take bumpers out of the crib? I keep wanting to do it but then I'm afraid they'll hit their heads on the bars. I also laid them in their cribs for naps without the bumpers one time and when I went to check on them one had an arm sticking through the bars and the other had his leg sticking though. It just didn't look right but I also do want them choking or something. They aren't sitting up or anything yet but they are pulling on the bumpers sometimes.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!!

I figure once mine start pulling/messing with them or using them as a step stool to get out of the crib, it will be time for me to take them out.

Good question.... Mine are the same age as yours and they love their bumper. I can't imagine having to take it out.

Mine still have theirs in. They both cozy right up to them and I dont want them on the bars. But if they begin to use them to step on, out they will come. But for now they are still in.

Mine still have their bumpers in at 21 months. I never took my oldest DD's bumpers out either. Don't plan to with Emilie and Trevor either.

I took mine out initially b/c they scooted all around their cribs and I was afraid they'd suffocate on them. THey did get their limbs caught. Once they started rolling over I put them back in - they love them!

I took Emma's out around a year. Jake still has his, just for keeping in those escapee binkies! I have it so it is just peeking above the mattress to keep those stray binkies in.

Thanks for all the replies. I feel so much better about leaving the bumpers in their cribs now. I thought I heard somewhere that you had to take them out by a certain age or something. I can understand taking them out if they are using them to stand on or something. Right now they are such rollie pollies though and I know they'd be banging their heads so much. Not to mention losing the binkies. I didn't even think about that. YIKES!!
