When did everyone take down the bumpers. I know you are not supposed to use them, however they have worked for us. They are starting to pull them down, but Im afraid once they can see each other its going to be worse. LOL!!

What do you think they'll do when they see each other? I'm so curious! Do the bumperd keep them from talking to each other?

We never used them and they've been fine without them so I say take them down if they are starting to mess with them. They do crawl torward each other when they wake up in the morning, but I think it's cute, and they only seem to do it when they wake up because they aren't like that when I check on them before I go to bed. They just crawl so they can see each other through the bars and "chat" until I go get them in the morning!

We still use ours. I plan to take them down if they start to step on it or use it to try and escape the crib.

I actually got rid of them when they started sleeping on their stomachs. I have found their faces buried so many times with bumpers that I just totally got rid of them. Better safe than sorry! I do know that there is some sort of 'breathable' bumpers that a lot of people recommend.

I left them in until they were out of the cribs. Main reason was for binky retention!

I used a bumper for the 1st crib - I made my nursery stuff and made it of foam and a zipper cover... so when my boy used it to STEP out and over the crib onto the floor I took the foam out of it and now its just basically fabric woven through the slats for pacifier retention. And it does help to shield for looking at his sister across the room.... BUT he always steps on it anyway and it seems to smoosh down. As for pacifier retention - I think those days are over... they just drop them out with their hands now... ugh!

For my girl when we finally put her crib up... I'd never got around to making her bumper so I'm borrowing a friend's breathable bumper, very simple but its pretty cool, it weaves through the slats and attaches to itself via velcro. I actually like it and they come in pink, blue, white and something else... it helps to keep her pacifier in, though now a days she throws it out anyway, so I think I might take it down too...

truly I don't think that they are as necessary... the pedi told me NOT to use one... ugh.

We still have the crib bumpers up in DD's room, we will take them down if she tries to use them to escape. We did not use them for DS's crib.

We just took them out when we transitioned them to toddler beds. Mine liked to use them as foot props and pillows.

I didn't take mine out for my older kids until they transitioned to a toddler bed, so I'm sure I'll do the same for the twins! Paci retention is the main reason here too! :)

LOL.......I guess I said that because they have been so into each other lately. It is soooo cute! I know they hear each other and they often babble back and forth which sometimes delays them falling asleep and sometimes they wont sleep. They constantly look over towards the voice so Im sure once they see each other they will be goofing around even more. LOL. I know it will only be temporary and something I will deal with since they share a room. I was just wondering if others dealt with it. :D

We still use ours and plan to until they are moved to a toddler bed. We did the same with DD and didn't have any problems.

As far as them seeing each other, I have just started to experience this. I had to separate the girls' cribs this weekend because they were playing at naptime through the slats. It would take them 30+ minutes to fall asleep. It was a mess! Now that their cribs aren't by each other, it's much better!

I just took them out when we lowered the mattresses. And well 1 of them put his leg thru the slots and tried to turn over. Yeah.
So the bumper went back into his crib & the other one is still bumper-less.

oh the crib passed the soda-can test.
