I modified our bumbers so that they are only tied to the side of the cribs that are against the wall (they are so cute I just couldn't take them out), but I frequently find one of the twins with an arm or foot stuck between the bars. Especially Sam now that he is pulling up on the side of the crib. The other day he had a leg caught all the way up to his thigh, poor thing! I am afraid that they are going to really hurt themselves...what do you do?

Mine move around a lot too but they have learned not to sleep with their mouth or nose pressed up next to bumper so I kept mine and modified it by tucking it down inside the mattress and the bars so they can't pull it up. Thats what they do with it and then they get stuck under it. Seems to be working well for us. I kept my bumpers on with my first til he was over 1.

we use Jolly Jumper Airflow Bumpers BUMPER

Here is what it looks like on the cribs (also, the front bar is completely uninterrupted with it, it also fits basinettes etc, adjustable by velcro)

I bought them at Walmart, each were $19.99

We still use bumpers and mine are 12m and I will definately keep them on. I took them off once and when I went in to check on two occassions a leg and a arm were stuck so we will be keeping them on. We just put cribs at my mom's house and we have bumpers also. I think it is much safer.
