We went in for 36 week appt today and baby a is breech and baby b is transverse. So...the doc is scheduling a c-section. I so wanted to go on my own and am feeling completely bummed out. What are my chances that I will go on my own by July 15.....

Unfortunately, even if you go into labor on your own, you will probably still need a c-section if baby a is breech. And (IMO) a scheduled c-section is much better than an urgent c-section after you're already in labor.

My baby A was head down and B was breech, and my OB still said I had at least a 50% chance of having a c-section because she might not be able to turn B after A was born. As crowded as twins are in there, there is probably very little chance of getting your baby A out vaginally.

I know it stinks though.

Why is your doc scheduling a c-birth? Is he unwilling to attend a breech vag birth? Is there a chance of finding a doc in your area who would be willing to attend a breech vag birth that you could switch to? Also, is there a reason they're scheduling you at 38 weeks?

There are benefits to waiting on labour to start before going in for a c-birth, even when you know one is necessary (one of the big one's is knowing that babies are actually ready to come). There's a lot to consider - just know that you do have choices & options. You just need to decide which ones are right for you.

Ugh, I would be bummed, too. My doc will let me go for a vaginal birth as long as Baby A is head down. He was "sort of" head down at the 20 week ultrasound, but from the way I've been feeling him move lately, I"m almost positive he's transverse now. I've been doing everything I can to move him! And even though I've got a ways to go, I sometimes feel frantic about getting him to move RIGHT NOW.

So I just wanted to say that I totally understand. Maybe those babies will flip yet! Good luck!

I would be bummed if that's what you wanted but if you go on your own earlier you may have to have an emergency csection and both you and your SO miss it
