I've been giving a lot of thought to going with cloth diapers when my boys get here, and these seem to be the way to go: http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_info.p...roducts_id=1279

I know they're a bit more expensive, but I think I can handle going cloth better if I don't have to fold. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have used these and if they work as well as everyone says they do. I'm also a concerned that they might not be small enough if my babies are under 7 lbs when they're born. Any advice you can give me would be great!

    TIA!

I use them, they aren't my favorite, but I have a dozen of them, so they are our primary dipe. They are my husband's favorite though. I found they didn't fit our guys well until about 8-9 lbs. We also use Baby Kangas, prefolds and covers, dream eze AIOs, thirsties fab fitteds with covers, and some homemade dipes.

I had to wait until we got up to 7lbs to use ours. Oh and the new Organic one size BumGenius are nice, nothing to stuff! They are a bit more but worth it to me on the stuffing factor

I have two BG's, and I don't mind them, but I mainly use them for naps because they are PUL. I am a prefold and cover girl :)
I love bamboo velour covers because they are so soft. If you aren't big into folding you can just tri-fold them and lay them on a cover. Or, try Rad Rags, they are a prefold that is only the size of a cover. I love these and they are very absorbent. If you want to get GREAT used diapers try diaper swappers.

I use Bum Genius One Size and love them! I think that if I were the only person diapering I would probably use Mother-ease one size & covers, but my husband and others diaper occassionally and fine that they are less intimidating. I can say that of the cloth diapers I have tried they are by far the most user friendly, and least intimidating to get started with. Also, I have tried prefolds and covers and I think they are ok, but I hate the fact that they are so bulky under clothes... On the flip side thier little CD bums are so cute!!!

As far as all-in ones (AIO) go, they are a little moe expensive, and they take FOREVER to dry... I tried a couple AIO's and I hated having to dry them extra long, and as far as line drying AIO's forget it! I have left my AIO's out all day and they are still damp, go for the pocket, fitted or prefold styles they are less expensive and they dry quickly!

Go for the bum Genius! One-Size! They are great, start with a few and try a couple other styles to make sure that you have what you like.... I also have the Bum Genious sprayer to spray the poopy diapers off with... It is a total luxury, and you don't need it, but it is GREAT!!

As for folding... You cxan actually fold the prefold onto your babies... It takes a couple of tries, but not to bad at all... Get a few Prefolds and covers just to try it... It is not my first choice in diapering, but they are worth trying, a lot of CD moms swear by them!

We thought about naming our boys Ethan and Ian! DH finally vetoed it, but that's pretty awesome, same combination! :D

Anyway, Thanks for advice ladies! I've been doing more research and I'm a lot less intimidated after watching some videos on youtube that show how to use pre-folds and AIO's. I've only ever seen disposables used so I had very little concept of how this would work. But now I'm willing to try anything now. Even the flat ones I'd have to fold sound fun. (Yes Fun! I'm kind of an origami nut... hey, it's like useful origami, better than having dozens of bits of folded paper cluttering up my house!)

So I have another question, what covers have worked best for you?

    Thanks!

Funny, we only had one name when we delivered them so for 2 days they were Baby A & Baby B! We knew one name (Ethan), but could not agree on a second... I said how about Ian and he said OK so we arrived at Ethan & Ian!

As for the covers... If you try Mother-Ease fitted diapers ( they have snaps and are 1 size) use the mother-ease covers... So far I NEVER have a leak with the Mother-Ease! I also have used Bumkins covers and Bummis Covers and like them equally. I have not tried wool covers, but would love to (they are really expensive which is my only hesitation). Apparently wool is excellent!

Mother-ease diapers are available on the motherease.com website and have an excellent resale value they will last you a long time and are in between a prefold and a pocket.

I love the Thirsties covers for prefolds! They have a gusset that is great for blow out containment.
We have Bummis, Bumpy, Imse Vimse and some Prowraps. But my fave by far is wool!
