bumbos?

They did not have bumbos when I had my first two children - now 5 and 3. How early can you use them??? My twins will be 3 mo in a week and I put them in it today and they loved it!!! Is it too early?? THe twins hold their head really well. I think that is because it is my 3rd and 4th child and I put them on their bellies from day one or else I knew they would hate it. Plus, my one twin has mild torticollis so she gets as much belly time as possible. Is it too early????TIA!!

 

I don't think its too early. My girls LOVED their bumbos at that age and it was great to have another entertainment option. Even if it only last 5 or 10 minutes.

AS you can see from my ticker, mine are even younger than yours. My son can sit in his for about 30 minutes without any issues at all. (He is a big boy) My daughter who has Torticollis still struggles with it, but the Doctor says it is good for her, so we try every day!

 

I LOVe the Bumbos! I started using mine when the babies were about 3 mths. They would sty in them anywhere from 10-20 mins. They make trays that you can place on the Bumbos too. They are $9.99 and you can get them at TRUS. They are great for entertaining as the toys don't really fall out of reach. I've bought them as gifts for my friends having babies.

 

My boys didn't really like the bumbo seats. However, they did come in really hand for bathing them. At around the age yours are, I would put them both in the tub in the bumbo seat and I was able to bathe both at the same time.

 

we love ours and have been using them since they were around 3 months. they are extra handy when you start solids!

I used them for short amounts of time starting at about 3.5 months. They are great for feeding when they first start solids...quick to clean up!

 

We have been using ours since just before three months. Both my DD and DS love to sit in them in the kitchen and watch me wash bottles or make dinner. I even put them in their bumbo on the floor of the bathroom when I have to use the restroom and they are being cranky !

Just be sure they are not in them for too long. You will be able to tell when their heads start to sag a bit.

Also, my DS had torticollis and I really enjoyed using the bumbo for him at the age. It was the only time I was not fretting over his head tilt. By the way, he is almost 4 months now and his torticollis is completely gone. We were very very dilligent about doing some little stretches and watching the way we held him and the way his attention was directed and it helped a ton! I also bought something to put in his car seat and started laying him on alternating sides on a sleep postioner to sleep- this seemed to stretch out his neck a bit.
