For those of you that have these are they worth it?

My twins are 5 months old, and I am wondering if these are a good investment or a waste of money. I am really having a hard time justifying the price of these....maybe i can find used ones.

    Any advice would be great!!!

    Thank you

We had two of them that we used from 3 months up until about 6 months. At this point in time, I would doubt you would use them for any length of time. Just my two cents.

I wouldn't bother. They were designed for children with physical disabilities who were developmentally ready to sit up, but couldn't on their own. Yours will be sitting on their own in the next couple of months :)

My girls are 4.5mo and I bought ONE about 2wks ago. I thought they looked really cool but couldnt justify the cost so I just bought one and I rotate the girls in it.
They like it but only for about 10mins at a time so I am glad I only got one.

A friend lent me hers but the boys just aren't that into it- I'm lucky if I get 10 minutes out of it. They're much happier in their bouncy seats or swings, or even just laying on the bed. I'm glad I didn't spend the money!

I thought it was worth the money just for all the funny pictures I got out of it. :) I liked having it because it was an option where DS's head didn't have to be on anything (the back of his head was getting so flat).

I don't think you need two -- just one is fine -- definitely get used if you decide to get one, the way it's built (one giant piece of foam) used would be pretty much same as new, just soap it up and hose off and it will look new.

I want a refund. It seemed like a good idea at the time and I even have the toy tray for mine and they are like "This is stupid!" I can tell. Don't spend 30 dollars on it--- TOO MUCH!

I got two at my baby shower, and I wish I wouldn't have registered for them. At this point my boys are arching their backs to try and get out of them and they are only five months old! I think they are a waste of money.

My girls love theirs! We have the BebePod and it came with the tray and there is a toy that attaches to it. I only got them because their larger items (exersaucer, swings, etc) aren't here yet because they have to come here by ship and I wanted some way to sit one while I held the other if necessary, etc.
I agree the price is nuts but within our embassy community it is super easy to sell baby stuff for great prices so I think I"ll get a lot for reselling it.

I got mine off Craigslist from another twin mom (so I got 2 for the price of 1) and I ended up using it for mealtimes when we first started solids. It kept them contained and I was able to feed them. Other then that they wouldn't sit for long.

they were a waste for us; first because both my girls have reflux and the position was awful; the reason they sit in them is that the butt is lower than the hips but that ended up crunching their stomachs and causing even MORE spitting up, which I definitely didn't want/need. They were also arching out of them very quickly

That said, the pics are INSANELY adorable! If you want them i'd try craigslist or a consignment store.

You want mine??? They have been collecting dust and getting in the way practically since we bought them. My friend said they were a must have - but my boys hated them.

I was like you.. in my thinking about the Bumbo.. But i gave in and finally got the ones with the trays. I LOVE THEM.. The babies love them! I take them with me to resteraunts and sit them on the table.. (i know...) With their backs against a wall...

I looked around for lowest prices and called a couple second hand stores.. i ended up ordering them brand new.. but you can get them for 1/2 the price @ a resale store and the trays are 10$ a peice..

We love ours. We only have 1 and got it used. I wouldn't pay full price. You can find them on ebay or craigs list or even a used children's clothing store (kid to kid, children's orchard, once upon a child) or some such thing. I used it often and have even fed them in it. I take them into the kitchen and then they can't move around or fall over.

Ours were a total waste of money. They have MAYBE sat in them 10 times. Now they are sitting on their own and don't need them. They didn't really like them. Also when they are in them ... they can't really play with anything ... they can't lean and reach toys b/c they are so "stuck" in there. You can get the toy tray to go with it ... but that is like $10 more for each one. I used to sit them up in it and let them play with toys hanging from the activity mat ... they liked that for about a week. When they watch Baby E I have always put them in the bouncers ... and now, they just sit on the floor.

Just my opinion, I wouldn't spend the $. Maybe if you can find some cheap ones on Craig's List or something ... in fact, I have 2 purple ones I will sell to you ;)

Got mine on craigs list when they were about 3 months old. I use them for feeding them solids and I put them face to face under the gym and they get a different perspective on their toys. Now they are almost 7 months and my one will wiggle herself all around and could probably get out. They were great but I wouldn't pay full price for them. (Someone once posted using them in the cart at the grocery store and I thought that was a good idea)

We love our Bumbos, but we started them at about 2.5 months. If your wee ones are already 5 months, don't bother. We are now 5 months and one boy is now arching his back to get out. All in all we have enjoyed them, but we got them as a gift. If I were going to buy, I would buy used. Here you can buy one used without a tray for $30 and if you keep your toddlers from decorating it with crayons and markers you can sell it again for $30 since they don't really show wear and tear.

We noticed an increase in spit up in the Bumbo, but thought the kids were just excited!

We don't have one and I don't feel like we missed out on anything. If I were you I wouldn't bother since your babies are already 5 months old. Unless you find some super cheap deal.

We actually really liked ours. We got one as a shower gift and I got the other one at BJs.

After a few months at home, we really only used them for solids when we were out and about. I'd have the girls on the floor in front of me and DH would sit behind them (because they do like to arch their backs to get out!) and we'd eat lunch dinner that way. Of course we didn't have booster seats to bring either and we already had the bumbos.... :unknw:

that's what we did, we bought one. it helps when you are feeding one and you can put the other one in the chair to practice sitting up, plus it helps to get burps out of them too

We used ours only for photo ops. Our boys were BIG boys and I don't think they liked being all squished in them. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't buy one.

I got ONE for them to share, because of the cost. I think it does help them get control of their necks, but still not sure if it was worth the money.

I love my bumbos. I didn't register for them but someone got them for me at my baby shower. They are really useful when you go to other peoples houses that do have seatng for babies.

I bought a used one for $20 and use it for about 10 mins a day. I think it was worth the $20, but I'm glad I didn't get two. FYI: I got ours at 5 mths.

I actually bought mine used on Ebay. The kids love them at times but, like all the other items in my house I have to rotate them around .
