when i put the LO's in the bumbo or exersaucer (did it for the first time today), should they lean toward one side? they have head control but they both kinda go to the left. is this ok bc they need to gain more trunk strength or are they not ready for it yet. the sides they lean toward are the same side as the side they sleep on, too.

not sure about bubmo's 1 of my girls figured how to get out of it at 7months. exersaucer's i had to put a blanket between there legs to help them get used to it.

I always stuffed a blanket behind their backs when in the exersaucer when they were still fairly small and unable to really fill out the seat. I didn't put them in the Bumbos until they could support themselves without leaning - it just looked so uncomfortable! :)

Isn't it fun to get to try out the new baby equipment!?! :)

It's pretty normal, as others said I just stuffed blankets around them in the exersaucers to keep them propped up. I never used bumbo's.

Your post made me smile, because it reminded me of one of my favorite pictures -- of the first time I put my son in the Bumbo:

Heehee. I agree with PP's, that you can prop in the exersaucer, but maybe hold off on the Bumbo for a little while.

I think your are fine - use a blanket as other pps have said. In the bumbo do they try to sit straight and fall over? If so I think you are fine to put them in the bumbo for short periods, like 2-3 mins. If they make no effort to sit up - just lean to the side, then I would hold off. Mine liked the bumbo and although there is no research that bumbos help anything, my girls got strong in them really fast and I do think they were very helpful. So fun to move on to something different. Yeah!

:wavey: Blanket propper here too! For the Boppy I waited until they were 5/6 months and had better control. It's up to you if you keep doing it. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer here.
