Bumbo, Bebe Pod, or neither?

I'm curious about the baby seats:

    * Which brand of baby seat have you used, Bumbo or Bebe Pod?
    * Are there any advantages of one brand over the other?
    * Is this type of baby seat worth the investment?
    * Did you have one or two seats, and if you had just one, do you wish you had had two?
    * How long can the babies use these?

    Thanks!!!!

I have two Bumbo seats with the tray. LOVE THEM! I got them when my girls were just about 3 months old. We still use them. I'm not sure how much longer we will use them though because they are at the age where they want to be on the floor...arms and legs going! I am happy that we had two seats because I would put the girls facing each other. It was another perspective to look at each other.

We have two Bumbos, our babies love them when they are watching me do something like cooking dinner. The box says they are good for 3-14 months old but i know that my 2yr old nephew likes to sit in it when he comes over [IMG]
im glad that we have two of them, we got ours off of craigslist and you can also find them on ebay. when you are finished with them you can resell them yourself.

My girls didn't like them. They would sit there for a minute or two and them start arching their backs and want out. Also, my little chuncks didn't fit very well, even at 5 months. I bought 1 and took it back after a week.

I have one of each - both were gifts. We like them. The Bumbo seems to be a smaller/tighter fit, so I would put the smaller twin in that one. It something different for them to use. I also was using the seats to feed them their solids in the beginning before I finally got booster chairs.

We have the Bebe Pods- I hated them at first (though it was cute to see them sitting up). They seem larger than the Bumbos. We got them when the boys were about 4.5 months- they always slid to the side and then tried to get out. Trying to feed them in those seats was crazy- at the same time and messy!!!!. One at a time was much better but still not too efficient. Now, though, the boys are 9 months and it works like a charm just to sit them in the seats for a bit for a snack in the living room- and not have to use the high chairs for everything. They still can wiggle out of them- but now I can manage both. And, they like to sit besides each other in them and hit the little part in the front!
For us, I think we would've been fine without them.

We have both. I prefer the bebe pod just because Brookies thieghs are just so chubby that she gets stuck in the bumbo. The bumbo works great for my smaller baby though

We had two bumbo seats.....they were great until they could sit up on their own and then we didn't use them as much.

We have 2 Bumbos and recently started using them for a few minutes a day. I kept the boxes and plan to resell them at $20/25 each (I checked Craigslist / eBay and that seems to be a good price) so in the end you'll get half of your money back ...

We have one the boys sit in occasionally now at 6 months old but they really liked it at 2 1/2 -3 months old when they couldnt sit up on their own...gave them another view other than the ceiling.
However skinny legs = Bumbo chunky legs = bebe pod. My 6 month old Twin A is just starting to chunk out at 17 lbs and his legs are a tight squeeze in their now...had they have had these when I had DS #1 his legs probably woudlnt have fit in the Bumbo from about month 1 on...

We didn't have either. We did just fine using bouncy's until they were 6 months. Mine much preferred to be in an exersaucer or simply hanging out on the floor.

    Hi.

I purchased the bumbo seats. I don't know about the bebe pod so I can't speak of advantages or disadvantages of one versus the other. In my case it was not worth the investment. My babies hardly used them at all. Maybe a handful of times. They would arch their backs and fuss every time I tried to put them in. I had two and wish I'd bought none. I just sold them both at a Mothers of Multiples tag sale but if I still had them, and my babies liked them, they would still fit in them and they are 10 months old (20+ pds). My 3.5 year old could fit in it as well.

I have to say that every baby is different. The reason I bought them in the first place was because of how many moms raved about them and how much their babies loved them. So it is possible that your grandbabies might like them. I would suggest purchasing one and seeing how they like it. If they love them you could always get another one later. One great thing I can say about them is that it was a great spot to put one of the babies while I changed the others diaper.

Good luck and congrats on your Grandbabies!!!

I absolutely loved mine during the time we used them. We got one of each, and I'm glad we did. I would get one of each. One twin liked the Bumbo better, one liked the Bebe pod better. It was the first chance they really got to notice each other, as we would put them in facing each other. They also would sit next to each other and hold hands, and this was back when they hardly knew each other existed. Best of all, it is a place to quickly place a twin when you need to run to help another twin or do something.

The only warning is to watch closely for them outgrowing it. My son flipped himself out of one once, so we stopped using it with him then. I've also heard (I think on a post here) of babies getting hurt... but that was when some stupid parent put them in one on a high surface. I would never do that with anything I put a baby in, so as long as you avoid that you should be fine.

I didn't have either of these. I'm not sure that I even know what they are. We used the swings and bouncies until they could sit up on their own. I also liked the Boppy to prop them up a bit.
