I was thinking about taking the boys to build a bear but not sure they will really be into it yet. They probably wont care about clothes and stuff for the bear which is fine by me since it will save $. If you have been how old were your kiddos when you went? Did they have fun and continue to play with the stuffed toy of choice?

I was wondering too... the Easter specials are just so adorable, but I can see how it would cost a lot of $$$ pretty fast.

I haven't thought about build a bear for ages! I'm pretty sure my dd would LOVE it! But I think 4-6 is probably the ideal age and the most expensive age

I would wait until they were at least 4. It is a very expensive thing to do & I don't think they fully enjoy it before that age. Plus, once you start it seems that they keep wanting to go back, I would put it off as long as possible!

We went shortly after they turned three and had a blast. I truly didn't think it was that expensive--especially just for the bear, and my kids didn't care about the clothes.

We did it at 3-4 with the oldest. There is a build a bear at the baseball stadium. He has never asked to go back so as a one time thing, it was great.

We took our older son when he was 4 to make a bear for his new sister (I was still pregnant). He had fun but the big machine scared him. It was expensive (I snuck back in and made a bear for him from his sister too), and honestly, the bears are stuffed so full they aren't "cuddly", I don't know if that's standard or just how our place did it. Anyways, the kids don't play with them because they are too hard, they just sit/stand on the end of their beds.

We took our girls when they were 3 they did not care anything about the clothes so that was a plus! ( for some reason my 2 think that all dolls, and stuffed animals should be naked lol!) My 2 did not really seem to care too much about their build a bear experience at all, they did not want any part of the stuffer nor did they want to put the heart in. My older boys had more fun helping them than the girls did.

My girls got build a bear gift cards for their birthday so we took them a few weeks after they turned 3. They LOVED it. They had enough to get any animal they wanted plus an outfit. The had a little extra left on the card, and we got a coupon in the mail so we went back a couple weeks ago and bought pajamas for "Princess Kitty Cat" and "Princess Blue Bunny". They sleep with their bunny/kitty every night still. It is very expensive and I highly doubt we would have bought as much as we did if somebody had not given them very generous giftcards.

When they were about 2 and half, we took them to one at a mall when we were on a trip. (Before our mall had one.) Picked out the cheapest bear and one shirt and they really just weren't into it, although they did enjoy giving them "baths". So I would probably wait till they are a little closer to 3.
