One of my DDs is always drooly and likes to blow bubbles. She's not especially cranky or anything like that. Could she already be cutting teeth at <3months old? Or did she just figure out how much fun it is to blow bubbles??

    TIA!

Ours started drooling at 4 months ALOT! However we didn't get our first tooth until 6 months. My nephew got his first around 5 months. All babies are different. They say it can be similar to when you or your DH got teeth. Early or later. Watch out for rashes under her chin. It is a hassle trying to keep the area dry. ;)

It can happen for quite a long time before the teeth actually come in. My twin boy is drooling a lot. My oldest got her first tooth at 5 months so I am on the look out. However, my oldest never showed a sign ... got all her teeth and never gave a peep.

Franca is correct! The drooliing can begin way before you ever see a tooth!

Welcome to our world Laura!!! hehe
We wear bibs all the time---and yes, it started around 3 months. We still haven't gotten our teeth, but we are like an open water fountain all the time!

Ours started that, too. My DH said, I think they're teething, and I said NOWAY! So we got out the Dr Sears and sure enough, it says they be starting that as early as 3 months. DD1 wasn't much of a drooler, so thanks for the heads up about rashes!

I brought this up to our ped at our 4mo. appt. I thought they were teething already. She said that their "drooling mechanism" kicks in around 3-4 months in order to get ready for teeth. Ours didn't get any teeth until around 6-7 months. There are alot of babies though that I have heard of getting teeth around that age, so you never know. Needless to say we went through ALOT of bibs :D .

Both of my girls started drooling big time at 3 months and were really cranky but they didnt cut their first tooth until they were 6 months.

My boys have been drooling for over a month now and no sign of teeth. My nephew cut his first tooth at three months though so anything can happen.

The twins started drooling around the same time. DS cut his first tooth at four months and DD cut her first tooth at four and half months.

my kids all broke their first tooth around 3 months. She could definitely be teething, but babies are major droolers, even when there's no sign of teeth!
