Hi everyone...sorry I haven't been around much lately...been staying busy and having lots of fun with my LOs! My Natalie just cut her first tooth and I realized I needed to start brushing/cleaning it. I was going to run out and get what I used with my DS (the Baby stuff that comes with the plastic finger cover with bristles...can't recall the brand name at the moment...) but then i was wondering what everyone else used?

Our Ped said not to worry about until they have 8 teeth, then he recommends brushing them. Up until then we just used a washcloth during bathtime:)

I just got baby tooth brushes and let them play with them. I wanted them to be used to having it in their mouth. I also sang a song while we "brushed" our teeth. They LOVE to brush their teeth now. After 1 yr I added the baby toothpaste, but I don't think it's that necessary.

Once they got their first teeth, I would use a washcloth. I think it was around 10 months when I had them play with their toothbrushes and practice using them. Mine are like Megan's boys, they love to brush their teeth now.

When they were little & just getting teeth, I just wiped them with a washcloth. Once they were a little older & had more teeth, I used a baby toothbrush & a tiny bit of baby toothpaste.

I tried the finger brush thing for a while. though I was never regular about brushing until well after a year... it really seems that just getting two little babes ready for bed is enough let alone trying to get their teeth brushed.

anyway some time after a year I got them regular kids toothbrushes and attemmpted to make it more of our night time routine. whoooops. they hated it. then I realized I wasn't using the baby toothpaste. once I added that, they LOVED it! so now if we walk down the hall without heading into the bathroom they let us know! they want their teeth brushed!

Our au pair said to use baking soda made into a paste, and just use a washcloth. Our son has about 4 or 5 teeth now.

We use baby toothbrushes with water. We brush their teeth before bed. We'll probably add baby toothpaste at 12 months.
