My Ped said to use a soft brush after a bath once a day to help with the cradle cap.

I still have the brushes that they used in the nursery and like Rachel, I would brush once a day.

I've never brushed my girls' head/hair... but when they did get a little dry flaky stuff on their heads a while back, my mom told me to put baby oil on them and use a washcloth to sort of gently slough it off. Ever since then I always lightly oil their heads after their baths and they've never had cradle cap... not sure if that's why, but it makes them smell sweet! :)

I rarely brush and never noticed a difference in cradle cap. I think they either have it, or don't. My first son didn't, my first daughter did, and so far my girl twin doesn't but my boy twin has a little bit. :)

If you have time and want to, great! But if you don't, don't sweat it!

My kids never had cradle cap and when they were that young we only bathed 2x a week.
On the other days we would just use a warm washcloth to rub over their little heads/faces/hands and bums.
I always put baby lotion on their heads/hair.

My babies didn't have enough hair to brush! :) They did get cradle cap though and I would put mineral oil on their scalp before bath and comb out the flakes.

My boys *still* don't have hair!

Jack had cradle cap and Aquaphor took care of it. Nate never had it. I think it's just a case of different skin on different boys, and not anything we did for them.
