I guess I'm not necessarily concerned about this, but I'm wondering if it's a stage and if anybody else has noticed their kiddos doing this. One DD has recently decided that her "broken" noodles or carrots that are not whole slices are "yucky." She only wants to eat the whole pieces! She doesn't do this with everything, i.e. I cut her grapes in half, meat in pieces, etc and she has no problem. But, she doesn't want to eat things that look like they were unintentionally broken, for lack of a better description. My other DD could not care less about a torn ravioli or a half Cheerio vs. a whole. Did anybody else go through this with their kids? I sure hope it's a phase!!

One of my girls is like that too. Sometimes I can convince her it's just like the others and she will eat it and other times she freaks out and won't touch stuff like that. Sometimes I will make another piece of whatever look just like the unwanted one to show her how it happens, that sometimes work.

BTW - Time to change your ticker. ;)

Allison has this problem, especially with bacon that tends to break. She is better about it now, but if she is especially tired, it really annoys her. I just tried to show her that it was okay if her food broke and that she could still eat it. I even showed her that my food broke sometimes but I could still eat it. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not. But she is getting better about it.

Yes! It's annoying. Cookie monster helped us because there is an episode where he accidently breaks a cookie and then says it's fine because now he has TWO cookies. The other character in the scene remarks that they are two halves and he says his tummy doesn't know the difference. When they pitch a fit now, I just remind them that they have two halves now and they generally get over it.

My DD is the same way woth her cookies and crackers. She cannot eat a cracker or cookie that has even the tiniest piece broken off. Hopefully this will wear off soon!! LOL

Oh my goodness, I had better not give J and C a broken cookie, cracker, or slice of cheese. They will certainly flip out if I do.
