So has any other 3 year olds break an arm? A few weeks before Hailey and Hannahs birthday Hannah fell down 2 steps and broke her arm. We were planning on having a birthday party with the pool, sprinkler, slip and slide and water balloons but that all changed. How many others have broken an arm at this young age? I feel so bad for her but she still does everything as normal only with a cast now. Of course this cast is pink and it has to go up past her elbow so she can't bend her arm either. She is such a trooper, she didn't cry very much at all when it happened.

    Awe....poor baby!

We haven't had a broken arm, but DD had an open toe fracture that resulted in surgery and a full footed cast that went all the way up her leg. She did figure out how to walk with the cast shoe and it never really slowed her down. She was a trooper too. It is amazing how resilient kids are!

Bless her heart!!! I am sorry that happened!!!

My oldest broke his collar bone at 2 and his arm at 3. The first night or two were rough and after that he was pretty much back to normal. I will tell you this - I went to a medical supply pharmacy and got a cast protector - don't waste your money. His cast ended up soaked and we had to have it replaced.

He was asleep on the couch and rolled off - broken collar bone.

Tripped over a runner that I had in the hallway while he was running - broken arm

My little sister broke her arm when she was 2. One of my DDs broke her foot when she was 3. Didn't slow em down at all though. I hope she gets her cast off soon.

Thanks everyone for the replies, it makes me feel better knowing that there are others out there that have broken an arm or foot at this age. Sometimes I feel like such a bad mommy because maybe if I was watching her more closely it wouldn't have happened.

Hah! I will make you feel better with this...my DD broke her right leg two days before she turned one (and three days before we moved into our new house!). Unfortunately, we did not know it was broken for at least a day (I cannot describe how terrible THAT made DH and I feel!!). Further, when we went into have the cast removed, she had a black eye from falling into the coffee table. And then, three days after she turned two, she broke her other leg! We chuckle that CPS probably has our name on some list somewhere...but, all her mishaps are directly related to her personality. She has NO fear <_<

Good luck...it is amazing how well they adapt to having a cast, isn't it?!

Sometimes I feel it's a miracle my two haven't broken anything yet...

DD had a cast on both her legs (foot and leg up to below the knee) for 6 weeks when she was 20 months though, for correction, and it didn't bother her one bit. It was really annoying for baths though.

I feel better after all the replies. Thanks again everyone! Now just have to deal with the cast until the 14th then they will do another x-ray to see if it is ready to come off.
