Anyone had their babies turn past 37 weeks? I've had a very good pregnancy, my baby A is a girl and was vertex most of the pregnancy, but turned breech three weeks a go and her feet are above my pelvis blocking my baby B who is a boy and is vertex, but he was different position every ultrasound.I'm trying forward-Leaning Inversion from spinning babies for a week already, I've been going to acupuncture for three weeks, every day chiropractor webster maneuver, also I added pulsatilla 30C twice a day and recently also added moxa sticks. I'm wondering if any of these helped anybody? I'll be 38 weeks this sunday I have no contractions and no sign of labor, my doctor will deliver naturally if at least baby A is vertex, but I'm freaked out right now, that they're not going to move into position as the maternal fetal medicine doctor doubts it saying that it doesn't happen past 35 weeks and that I should have a section, which I refuse to sign for when nothing is wrong and I feel my babies are not ready yet.

Someone replied to my 39-week post the other day who had a baby turn from breech to vertex at 36-37 weeks, but she is the only one I've ever heard of. My OB has never had that happen; he's been in practice forever and is known to be one of the only OBs in the greater Melbourne area who will even consider delivering twins vaginally, so he sees a LOT of twins. Mine are both breech, and I have to say, after two vaginal births (the second at home) I'm petrified of a c-section, but I'm not holding out hope for baby A to turn. Like you, I've had no signs of labor - unlike my other two pregnancies - and things just don't feel like they're going to change.

That said, my OB let me pick my section date. I'm scheduled for 39 weeks 2 days (I'm 36 weeks tomorrow). I do feel that by that point they are safe to come, even if my body isn't trying to kick them out. I also wanted to give baby A a chance to turn, should she so choose. Will your OB not let you have a c-section as late as you like? I'd say it's not unreasonable to ask for one near your due date. Like I said, I don't expect to feel contractions or pelvic pressure as baby A probably isn't going to settle in there properly and get things started, so waiting for contractions to begin before going in for the section isn't something I'm concerned about. Of course, that's me and others might feel differently. In any case, I hope you're either able to get your baby to turn or that you can get a later section date. Good luck - it really sucks to be faced with this after months of preparation for something else. [IMG]

My baby A was breech just about the whole time of the later half of my pregnancy, my OB would not deliver vaginally unless she turned, which she never did. They also would not let me go past 38 weeks, so I had a scheduled c-section. No signs of labor prior to that at all. I always joke that if the twins had their way, they'd still be in Mommy's belly  My two were born fine, no issues at all at 38 weeks.

That being said, a friend of mine who is a mother of four (now all adults), her youngest baby turned from breech to head down on the day of delivery. She's the only person I've heard of that happening to. Not that might not happen for you but I agree with nerdgirl, I would talk to the doctor about letting you go a little closer to your due date if possible. I wish you all the best for your pregnancy and delivery!

My twin A flipped from breech to head down around 36-37 weeks. Baby B stayed vertex the entire time. My doctor would only deliver naturally if A was head down so that was a big relief. If it were me, I wouldn't consent to a c-section before 38 weeks at the earliest, unless something was wrong of course. When my A was still breech, I was scheduled for a c-section at 39 weeks, after he flipped my doctor waited for me to go into labor.

My twins turned to vertex 10 days before they were born, then back to their favorite positions of (a)breech and (b) transverse just in time for the birth at 38 weeks. I had to have a c section!

You just never know until the big day!
