I'm just about 22 weeks and my breast were itchy but now the areolas are sore. Anyone else have this problem? What did you do to relieve the pain? I have some lanolin that I've been using, using cold and sometimes warm compresses and I've been going "commando" as far as bras goes when I'm home, but nothing seems to help. It might help to know that I have a slow leak too. Is this too early? I don't remember leaking this early with my singletons. After my leak dries, it's crusty and itchy and adds to my soreness to the point of where I don't want to touch them.

There is no such thing as TMI where this is concerned!

Sounds like your body is just getting ready. I started leaking around week 20 even with my singletons, just means your body knows exactly what its gonna need to do. I was sore as well. I would use a warm washcloth to get rid of the crusties and make sure that you are washing your bras frequently since you are leaking. I also found that sports bras helped a little, but warm/cold compresses did nothing.

I had the all over sore boobs when I first got pregnant but as the pregnancy went on I just felt like my nipples were going to blow right off the rest of my boob! It was kind of a strange sensation but it lasted the entire pregnancy..

I remember having little crusties of dried milk on my nipples from about mid-pregnancy on...

I found wearing no bra made things worse. For me, the friction of loose clothing rubbing against those already-sensitive nipples just aggravates them more and actually makes them leak. I wear a sleep bra to bed, too. You'd think that having the fabric in constant contact would be worse, but I've actually found that keeping the girls "locked and loaded" helps.

YES! I too am sore. My hubby was trying to be "funny" the other day and grabbed one. OUCH! I screamed. He thought I was just kidding. He felt bad afterward. I have the crusty yellow "booger" like leak as well. The soreness was REALLY BAD at the beginning, got better, but is getting painful again. I think our bodies are just getting us ready.

When I used to get the nipples that felt like they were in a frying pan I would put that lanloin nipple ointment on them. It seemed like I would feel it after a shower quite often. It worked great and quickly . I purchased two of those nipple ointment but I recommend buying the smallest container they have since you end up not using that much of it.
