I know a few of you have been really happy with yoru breast pumps, my
sil is looking for a good one to register for ( I steered her away from
a manual) but I rented a hospital grade pump so I'm not much help- I
reccomended medela but thought id get some first hand prferences.....

    thanks so much!

ps she's having a singleton and isn't sure whether she will be returning to work full time or part time but either way I figured she'd need more power than a manual pump....

I agree! I'm actually using it as I type (one handed)

I have a medela pump in style and the pump in style advanced. I love both of them!! I think they work as well as the hospital grade one I used in the hospital and then rented for a month.

I I too recommend the pump in style. I got mine with my first DS and while I didn’t use it a lot with him I am so glad I had it (and have it now).

Just putting in my vote ... love the Medela Pump in Style ... and I have a dinosaur one that I am borrowing from my SIL that she used with both of her kids and her SIL used with both of her kids! It is at least 10 years old and still works great! I bought all new tubing and stuff ... you can buy each little part online separately ... they don't sell a lot of the parts in stores b/c they don't want you borrowing someone else's pump ...

I don't pump a lot, but if you do, I would recommend a hands free pumping bra ... not sure where to get one ... you could probably google ...

I have an Ameda Purely Yours and it is wonderful, and cheaper than the Medela. It worked just as good as my hospital grade pump did (I pumped exclusively with it).

Medela Pump in Style hands down. It has worked well for me!

Another one for the Medela Pump in Style Advanced

ALthough...I think it's really only necessary to go this route if she's planning to pump alot. I exclusively pump and it works great for me. But I'm sure there must be other pumps out there that are less expensive and work great for the occasional pumper.
