breast pain?

So I've noticed over the last few months that occasionally I'll get this AWFUL pain in my right breast right behind my nipple. However it only happens at night when I'm sleeping (the pain is enough to make me dream about my breast hurting and then wake me up) and it usually goes away within an hour. It's always my right breast, never the left, and it ONLY happens at night. And not even every night. It's pretty random.

Anybody have a clue what this is? I plan on breastfeeding so I don't want any surprises when the time comes. :)

    Ouch!

Are you leaking yet? & do you sleep in a way where pressure would be put on that side? Offhand I'd say your milk ducts are starting to fill with colostrum and the pain you feel is pressure from them not being used, yet, which is compounded by either the other breast, or an arm. I'm not sure what you can do about it, but you can always ask the OB if they've heard of it, too.

I don't leak per se, but if I tried to squeeze some out, a drop or two would appear. And as I was an avid and loyal stomach sleeper before I got pregnant I still wake up to find myself attempting to sleep on my stomach. I bet that poor boob is crushed and just crying for relief!

I very much missed sleeping on my tummy while pregnant yet while BF haven't been able to return to it. It squished the boobs too much and made me leak. Who wants to wake up to being wet & cold? ;)
