DD and DS are pretty much on just finger foods now (along with me nursing them). But I am running out of ideas for breakfasts. They love fruit, so I know that I can give them that, but they get fruit at every meal since I know this is what they will eat. They eat veggies, but still prefer the fruit. Just recently DS stopped eating baby cereal and DD stopped this awhile ago. They will eat cheerios as long as they are not in milk.

So I was just wondering what all do you give them for breakfast...just looking for some new ideas :)

    Thanks!

I don't know, mine are younger so they still get rice cereal followed with a cup of fruit. They love their cereal, or I change it up with oatmeal.

For now I figure, if it's not broke don't fix it.

    sorry I'm not help :)

Mine loved pancakes. You can put a little syrup if you want or else a yogurt blend with fruit. French toast sticks are good too. If they can do the peanut butter thing, toast with peanut butter is an idea and so is biscuits with gravy. There are lots of great ideas when they get to that age. They will be eating people food a lot in another month or two, so to add them now is not a problem. Add it with their fruit and mommy milk, and you have a great b-fast! You could also try some eggs with mashed potatoes too. Might look icky, but it really is good! (although I suggest feeding them that one! LOL)

instant oatmeal with fruit, waffles/pancakes (frozen or homemade...mine love sweet potato pancakes), yogurt and fruit, muffins, toast, blueberry crumble toast, etc.

All of these things (well except the oatmeal) can be cut up into little pieces that are good and easy for finger foods, especially the pancakes!

Mine loved pancakes and waffles too at that age. I would caution you on the peanut butter since alot of Peds are recommending that you stay away from it until the age of 2 (high allergen).

We also did mini shredded wheat soaked in a bit of milk but if they like it plain, that might be an option. Oatmeal like Apples and Cinnamon was a bit hit with a mashed banana mixed in and some applesauce to make it not so thick. Also if they have had yogurt we used the whole milk french vanilla and mixed that with some applesauce and cinnamon. HTH!

My girls eat a fruit mixed with cereal or yogurt, some puffs, and a piece of real toast for breakfast.

Mine boys like the same as some of the things above. Waffles, pancakes, oatmeal. I try to feed them something that we eat.

What I do now is what I have been doing since about that age. They get either waffle, toast, nutrigrain bar, muffin, banana bread, etc and always fresh fruit. Some mornings we also do sausage (bacon, but they may be young for that since it is chewy).

We do multigrain waffles with baby food fruit puree spread on them, they are a favorite around here. They also loves pancakes and nutrigrain bars but I try to limit those as they aren't as healthy. Sometimes we will do yogurt and wheat toast (with a little butter on it). You could do scrambled egg yolks as well, we haven't tried that yet (too much work for 7 a.m. IMO). We still have oatmeal with fruit alot of days as well.
