Braxton Hicks?

I'm still having lots of Braxton Hicks, even though I'm horizontal. At least I think that's what they are. Usually it starts when one of the twins starts to move a lot, then I feel a lot of pressure - as though both babies are taking huge breaths and pushing out in all directions. It doesn't hurt, but it presses on my bladder and makes me need to pee! It lasts about 10 or 20 seconds. Especially in the evening, they are sometimes pretty close together. No reason for concern, right??
    Thanks!

How frequent are your painless contrax? If they are 4 plus an hour, I'm told you need to let the docs know. It could be normal for you, but then again on the other hand, they could be effectively dilating you (even if they are painless. . . they are no longer BH if they are dilating you).

Certain times of the day, your uterus may be more irritable. . . evening is definitely one of those times. At least, this is what the OB and nurses tell me.

How far along are you? Are you on bedrest for PTL or cervical issues? I hope things are going as well as possible for you!

Stupid me! I read your other post and answered some of my own questions. . . sorry, I am losing my mind!

It's okay - my mind is mostly gone too! :D

I'm 29 weeks with a shortening and funneling cervix. I've been having Braxton Hicks for quite a while, and the OB has told me it's okay. I think I'm just ultra sensitive about it now! I start having weekly NST on Friday, so hopefully that will put my mind at ease.

My peri always tells me that BH contractions are the ones that don't change your cervix. Since my cervix changed (dilated), he considered them to be normal contractions. So they really try to keep me from contracting AT ALL. At about 28 weeks though I started having many, many contractions (6-8 per hr) and it didn't change my cervix much. I'm in the hospital so they're always checking these things. And it's been almost 3 weeks since all the increased contractions and I'm stable again and no birth yet. So who knows? If you're concerned, don't hesitate to get it checked out. But you're probably fine.
What a vague answer that is. I think I could probably BE a doctor as this point with the ability to give completely vague, non committed answers :) Hope they're normal for you and don't result in any changes!!!
