    Hi girls,
I posted another topic of 1 cm and 30% effaced. Now I am wondering how common frequent braxton hicks are? These are uncomfortable. I had some with my son but now I am just worried and don't want them changing my cervix. I will sit or stand and one will just come on and I feel like I can't move. I layed around for 2 days prior to these really starting today and don't know if this could be a reason or not. Anyone else have alot of braxton hicks?

I have had lot at a time and mine were about every 10-15min apart but nothing cervix changing. It could be that you rested and now that your up moving around they are bringing them on stronger. I just lay on my side drink alot of water and breathe thru them and they will go away. since you are 1cm dilated i would find out from you OB how many u are suppose to have in a hr before going to the hospital. I know if they are severe enough they can change ur cervix, mine have only changed my cervix from 3.6 at 20 wks to 3.3 at 26wks so it itsnt changing mine much but i dont get internal exams yet. hope this helps sorry i didnt have more info

I have them a lot if I am on feet. Last check they had not effected my cervix. I have been trying to get in more and more water and I am staying off my feet most of the time to keep them away.

I have them very frequently (every time I stand up, move, bend, or if I have to go to the bathroom). My husband (he is so funny), he makes me write them down in a notebook on what time I have them. Our OB recommended that we keep track of them, but I think he took it to the extreme a little. Anyway, I sometimes have 40 in a day. I did have a scare of preterm labor last week and was hospitalized, but those were definitely different than Braxton Hicks (I knew right away there was something wrong). Since being home, I have been on bed rest and still get BH contractions sometimes 30-40 times per day. I had an appointment today with no more change in my cervix, so I guess it is pretty normal to have that many.

As long as they are not getting stronger or change (start feeling pelvic pressure with them or something), my doctor told me not to worry about them.
