This is not my first pregnancy so feel funny even asking...but...I think I've been having some BH the last week or so. I didn't have them with my first.

I'm having what seems to just be a tightening of my stomach. Feels the most tight right at the "top" of my belly. Only lasts a few seconds and don't seem to be in a pattern-which I know are good signs. I'm just trying to figure out if these are BH or just something else.

I'm trying to get to 36w and getting so paranoid these days...

    Thanks

You will feel your tummy tighten and then loosen slowly. My stomach would get rock-hard when I was having a BH, and then when the contraction would stop, it would be squishy. That is the best description I have!

I know how you feel about the paranoia. Weird how you're super paranoid in the beginning and the end!

As far as BH are concerned, you're lucky that you're not getting that many this late in the game. I've been having them every day for the past few weeks about every 15 minutes (they seem to be worse at night). My entire abdomen tightens up. I get short of breath and lately every time I get them, I feel a sudden urge to pee. I know when I'm having one because of the breathing thing but also because when I look down, the heads of both of the babies pop up. I hate BH because I freak out that I'm going to go into labor any day now.

    Hope this helps!

i had my first BH the other night!
i had read an article that day about PTL and so that was in the back of my mind the whole time.
i was laying in bed trying to get to sleep and all the sudden my stomach got really tight and my back got a little achey. i was like ummmm honey come feel my stomach, and dh says dang thats hard as a rock! that made me feel better, not! i had a couple over the course of a few hours. it was a crappy night! my stomach itself didnt hurt so i knew it wasnt a real contraction but it still freaked me out.

ditto on this description... mine always started from the top and gradually hardened the whole belly...but I know I've read in books that bh ctx can be just part of the belly...
