It feels the same to me. I can't tell a difference. Should I just count them all when I am timing my contractions? If so, I've had a few over the past few hours, not too bad though. Very irregular, but water and laying down doesn't alleviate them. It actually seemed to get a bit worse after laying down. The pattern was like 16 minutes, then 21 minutes later, then 40 minutes, then 8 minutes, then 20 minutes, and the last one was almost an hour ago. Nothing concerning right?

ETA- I know the difference between their regular movements like the pokes and kicks and stuff. I'm talking about sometimes they shift around and it makes my stomach tighten up.

I just got back from L&D getting this exact thing checked out! It seems like the babies are pushing around and making your tummy all tight? ALmost like they're pushing themselves up in little balls?? I got in trouble this past week for not knowing these were contractions- so I was told to call if I got this "tightening" more than 4 times per hour. Well tonight I had 7/hr so I called- got on the monitors and they were contractions, but since they weren't doing anything to my cervix, all was well. The dr said since I've been getting these for awhile, I don't need to come back unless they start becoming more "regular" - (and like yours, mine tend to be fairly sporadic in timing) or if I have any other PTL signs accompanying them. Granted, a call never hurts- but that was our situation tonight! Good luck! [IMG]

I read recently that it's BH only if it's happening high on your uterus...that said, my doc said that if i have more than 4/hour for TWO hours (eight w/in a two hour period) to call them, and she'd probably want me to go to L&D to get checked out. HTH

I had braxton hicks contractions all through the pg. Towards the end, i started to get them stronger...and you'll know when they're strnger...and they happen more often...like your dr. said more than 4 an hour. Mine were every 6 minutes apart and kinda strong when i went in for my NST but they sent me home and told me to monitor them. The next morning i called and asked then how strong they wanted them. At this time, i was breaking in coversation to have a contraction. They told me to come in and 3 hours later,i was holding my babies. you'll know when they get stronger and when they're closer together is when to call in. Good Luck
