Sure, raising kids is hard work, and twins come with their own sets of challenges. There are days (weeks for me) where you just can't seem to get it together.

But then there's those times when something clicks, or we manage to do something really cool, and it's like "Check this out! I rock!"

Like the other day I needed to mop, but I've got crawlers that were pretty fussy that day. I managed to sweep, but then mopping got to be a bit tricky. So I put one in the baby carrier, held the other like a football under my arm, and mopped. (I was pretty impressed w/ myself, even if I was using a swifer mop and later I realized I probably could have put them in the pack 'n' play, but I got the mopping done without babies crying and that's what I was trying for.) I told my mom and she was really impressed. Holding two babies while mopping. wow.

I know we all must have moments like this, I'd like to hear yours! Come on, let's brag a little!

Wow! That is good! Well, the first one that comes to mind is from a few months ago, when I was still nursing. One baby was in the exersaucer, crying. Of course this happended right in the middle of nursing the other one. So I managed to dance and sing to the crying baby while still nursing Tatiana (glad no one was there to see me dance...). I'll have to rack my brain for a more recent "I rock!" moment...

eta: sometimes I feel like "I rock" at the end of the day when everything went smoothly :pardon:

I felt like that when i went grocery shopping with the twinfants. I had one in the c-seat and one in a snuggli- but head control is still wobbly so i had to use one hand to support Lincolns head while I shopped with one hand. haha. I was just proud I did it!

How about bathing the twins and my 2.5 yr old all together in my garden tub, and no-one drowned?!? Sure, dh was there to pass off a naked infant to while I finished with the other naked infant and washed my toddler, but it's still a "first" for us! :D

I bathed my 3 yr olds, myself, and my 6 mo old in the garden tub all at once last week... wouldn't try it again, though, it was a bit dicey and really didn't save me much time.

I often read a book to my 2 and 4 year olds while I nurse the boys (some may find that impressive), but the other day I found myself nursing one twin, the other finished and needed a diaper, I had my 4 yr old get it, I changed a diaper while nursing one and reading a book to the other 2 (I barely had to pause in reading since I had read the book about 10,000 times and know it by heart!). It was one of those times when I just looked at myself and laughed and really wished someone was there to witness it! :D Great Topic!

You all ROCK!! Isn't it funny being a twin mom?! I never knew I could have done the things that I've been able to do in the last 7 months. What cracks me up is when people say "how in the world do you do it?" (and I've just got my 2). I actually LOVE hearing this- it's so motivating!

    Great job, Mommies!!!!!

The other day DH and I went to the supermarket with the twins. Usually we'll bring just one stroller and i'll carry the other one with a sling or something. It happens that Gizelle and Nathan are both having the 'I'm in a being carried mood' so i had to carry both of them on me, one on each side while DH had to push the food trolley and stoller! I was quite a sight and attracted lots of stares! (not to mention elderly ladies who waylay me!) But I felt like incredible hunk, carryng two persons on me! haha! :rotflmbo: :yahoo:

I don't know if it was our pediatrician giving me a psychological boost or if she meant it but at the twins' first visit after we brought the girls home, I brought them there by myself (last minute appointment - pediatrician in the NICU said the girls didn't need a certain shot at exactly 28 days, can't remember which one that they are supposed to get w/in 28 days, and the ped office called and asked why I wasn't in) carrying one carseat and pushing the stroller (found out our carseat adapters didn't fit the stroller) and she looked at me like I had three eyes plus I was breastfeeding one in the room and feeding the other with a bottle. She immediately sent one of the receptionists in to feed the one with the bottle and I held my tears back : )

Most recently, I figured out how to put one baby in the Moby D and carry the other with all of us feeling comfortable. My sister said if they had the Moby D when she had her kids she would definitely have had another LOL!!!

I got all three boys and my husband up from naps and out the door (changed diapers/potty, fed bottles, and changed outfits) in 20 minutes for their professional photo shoot!

I like to read when I nurse (I tandem feed) and I had forgotten my magazine, so I stood up with my EZ2Nurse pillow and 2 nursing babies, walked to the other room, got my magazine, came back to my feeding room, and sat back down, all without my babies de-latching!

I've done that. Only I was in the living room for a night feeding and this huge spider came out of nowhere and crawled next to my foot! I jumped up, nursing pillow, babies and all and practicly ran to the bed room. We bearly fit through the door! We finished that feeding on the bed and the boys never un-latched!

we had a really awesome weekend. we played and went for walks and went shopping and laid out on a blanket under the shade of the trees and enjoyed the spectacular weather, and feedings went well and naps went off without a hitch and then tonight after the boys went to bed i made mashed chicken, lentil and sweet potato stew and mashed chicken, rice and peach stew for their dinners this week.

i know it doesn't sound like much but it was so much fun and i feel like supermom.
