Just curious for those of you who have or had BPP's...did they ever not score well? I had one this morning and Baby B just wouldn't move. Initially she wasn't doing her practice breathing either. Her heart rate, cord flow and fluid level were good, but as hard as the tech was pressing on her, she just wouldn't move. She's the bigger baby of the two and has her head down but Baby A has her head in position ready to come out first.

I didn't get to see a peri after the appt, but tomorrow I see my OB and she'll have the report. I just wonder if she's going to push things up and induce me earlier.

I feel so bad for them because they look so cramped in there :(

    Thanks

I don't have any answers for you, since I never had a BPP, but I am bumping this up in the hope that someone might be able to help.

Did they monitor the babies after your BPP? Usually they do that when the baby isn't moving during the BPP.

It's possible that the baby was just sleeping. If you were my patient, I'd see how the tracing looked on the monitor and if it was ok, I'd repeat a BPP tomorrow. If still low tomorrow, I'd recommend delivery.

Are you feeling them both move? If you're not feeling that one baby moving, I'd call my doctor tonight. I'm not trying to make you nervous, but it's concerning if you're still not feeling movement.

Good luck and I hope all turns out well.

I had BPPs 1-2 times a week starting at about 28 weeks. There were definitely times when we couldn't get one of the girls to wake up. I usually drank a Coke or something beforehand in the hopes that it would spur them to activity. :)

On those times when one of the girls didn't pass the BPP, they had me stay hooked up for longer until they finally did. Usually, the test only took us 30 minutes but I did stay 2 hours one time waiting for one of the girls to do everything she needed to do.

I would think that your OB would want you to take the test again.

When Katelyn(baby a) failed an NST around 35 weeks, the OB wanted to send me straight to labor and delivery for closer monitoring. She had been moving in the car all the way to the hospital and then was napping I suppose during the NST. I told this to the OB, so he compromised and I was sent from the OB clinic to the hospital(across the street) for a BPP. I picked up an orange juice on the way to the ultrasound clinic. After I drank the orange juice, she started to move around slowly. It took a while, but they the info they were looking for. If they hadn't, I would have been sent to labor and delivery for closer monitoring and possibly delivery.

I had one yesterday and it took quite awhile to get either of the boys moving. They were crazy a couple hours before that, but they were sleeping when we tried yesterday. After about 30 minutes she got everything and they passed. My tech said it isn't unusual for it to take a while to get the baby/babies moving. She said sometimes it is hard to stay awake waiting for them to move.

Yep - everything went great with my non stress today. Baby B must have been sleeping yesterday...she was jumping around like crazy today. I think part of my problem is that I can't have caffeine (because Baby A has an arrhythmia on and off) and I can't have juice or sugar (because I have GD). I really don't have much that I can do to kick start there movement...although occasionally a sugar free popsicle works.

I'm back to waiting to be induced at 38 weeks but I'm okay with it because I know the babies are doing well!

Thanks so much everyone for your responses...I was freaking out yesterday.

Glad to hear everything is well, but when Claire failed hers, the girls arrived almost 3hrs later. Her bloodflow through her umbilical cord was abnormal and she didn't move during the BPP. So it was time...very crazy but I knew she was ok cause the whole time they were prepping me, she was moving around.
