DS likes to sit on the potty now that dd is going regularly and we have flushing parties... but his penis doesn't stick down into the pot... Soooooo how do we make it work? If he pees like this he'll spray everywhere! Is there a better potty for boys???? THANKS!

I have not reached this point, BUT what I have is that if you sit him up backwards it points down! :)

teach him to push it down. also, the bjorn potties are pretty good as far as having a high front.

Yeah, when Kyle was sitting he faced forward and held his penis down.

Just show him he needs to point it down. Also will help if he leans forward a little bit. He'll get it, it will just take practice!

I'm new to this forum but we are finally in the clutches of potty training. We have our guys push it down into the toilet. DH actually taught them to say "ding dong down" when they push it down  .

    Ding Dong Down....that's great!
Generally we use the correct terms for the 'parts' but I like that! I think we'll use that for potty training Zack!

Most pottys also come with a little guard that you can put on or take off... I've been using that with my ds.. but it's annoying. It falls off all the time. And I could never put this potty rim on my big toilet with the guard on it... I wouldn't want to continually fish it out of the toilet!!! I'm kind of hoping that eventually he figures out how to go standing up....makes peeing in public bathrooms soooo much easier.

We had the Bjorn potties and it was just enough to keep things in place. However, when they went to school they didn't have a deflector so they had to learn to push it down. If I had it to do over again I would teach them to push it down from the get go....

Thier teacher tells them to keep thier firehose down.

We had them lean forward and showed them how to "push your penis down" and just remind them each time. It was not long into it that they wanted to stand, which has its own issues. We still have to remind them when the sit to poop-just in case.

    Good luck
