I heard boys are much slower to sleep through the night. Just curious if people with Boy/Girl twins find this to be true or not?!?!?

I found that to be true with my twins, and my older kids too! My girls slept through on their own, around 3-4 months, and my boys, all with CIO, around 6-9 months.

We are still not sleeping through the night. But my DS would keep sleeping if my DD did not wake him up. My DS is a great sleeper.

True for us -- but, DD was bigger/heavier at 3 months, and I think she could just go for a longer time without food. DS woke once at night to eat for two or three weeks after DD started sleeping through....

My DD is a much better sleeper than my DS. He never has been as good of an eater and weighs less, but may now be closer to the same weight. But My DD even sleeps better at naps.

My girl sleeps better than my boy, but she weighs more. He's just a tad behind her. I think a lot of this has to do with the weight difference. It seems they're at the same spot within a week of each other where sleep is concerned.

My boy sleeps much better than my girl. I know he would have slept through first, but I always woke them up together to feed. But they both slept through about 3.5 months, so it wasn't too late.

Even now, he's a much better napper. I just think he requires more sleep. It's tough, cause you want twins on the same schedule, but they are two different people. DD can take 2 30 minute naps a day and be the happiest girl around. DS needs more like 2 2 hour naps ... and if he doesn't get them, he's a crank!

Yep! True here. My twin boys didn't sleep through until 4 months and there were still chaotic nights after that.

My little girl Katie started sleeping through at 6-8 weeks and has been ever since!!

My DS was the first (at 3 mos) to sleep through the night and my DD caught up around 4 mos.

They are and have been really good sleepers with a few bumps in the road with late night wakings since then.

The best advice I was given (while pregnant) was to ALWAYS put them to bed awake or partially awake, so they can learn to self-soothe early on and it worked for us quite well.

They are also in their own cribs which I think had helped b/c they can move around and not wake one another.

My DS slept through first at around 12 weeks and has always been a solid 12-13 hour a night sleeper. DD slept through at about 16 weeks and has always been a problem sleeper!

My twins are 3 months and 1 week.
They both go down between 6 and 6:30pm, within a few minutes of each other. DS is a better sleeper but still wakes up every 3 hours to eat. He can go to sleep by himself with a little soothing before hand. DD will sleep longer but needs significant amount of soothing before she falls alseep. Right now (bad habit), she will only fall asleep if held or with a pinky in her mouth. No paci's for her...

Any comments on them not sleeping through? They were c-section at 38 weeks, DS 6 1/2 lbs and DD 5 1/2 lbs. Both are past the 12 lb mark now. They take 5-6 ounces 5 x per day and 3 at night. Pediatrician said they need at least 3 hours between feeds (bottles are 1/2 breastmilk, 1/2 formula).
Never mind, I'm going to post this in it's own category.
    DD is calling from naptime!

My daughter is a much better sleeper than my son.

She has slept through since about 4 months old and they are now 10 months and he still wakes up once a night for a bottle and then around 5 am gets fussy and needs to be pat down. She sleeps from 8 am till 6/6.30 every night.

And she weighs about 8 lbs less than my son.

Sleep traing for my son to being in earnest in the new year. I can't keep this up much longer.

Add me to the list of DD as better sleepers. DD has slept through the night pretty consistently. DS has only started doing so in the past month or so.

Like PP have said - weight difference may be a factor - DD came into the world almost 4 lbs heavier than her older brother, but now he's only 1 lb behind.

My DD is the better sleeper but seems like she is harder to get to sleep the first time at night. Any other time she is by far the sounder longer sleeper. My DS wakes up easily and is the one who wakes me up for middle of the night feedings. I think if i didn't wake up DD to eat she probably wouldn't wake up on her own....in fact come to think of it last night she didn't really wake up to eat when I tried to get her up. Also when my DS wakes up in the morning he is a bear. My DH laughs that he gets up with the boys (my older DS was also hard to get to sleep throught the ngiht I dont think really slept ALL night until he was a year) and the girls sleep in. My DD wakes up for her morning feeding after DS i feed her and we go back to sleep if daddy feels up to having boy duty by himself and we have no where to go.

I'm changing my answer, of the last 4 nights, DS has slept through, DD has woken for a bottle, then right back to bed. He outweighs her by 2 pounds, so I think that has something to do with it as they are both turning into pretty good sleepers.

I have three boys and I can honestly say that only one of them has had trouble sleeping. Kevin is my Baby A. Patrick (Baby B) never had trouble sleeping and still does not. My oldest was a breeze as well. Not sure about the girl thing or not. :pardon:

My boy slept through the night for a month or two before his sister did. I think it all depends on the kid, I doubt it is a boy/girl thing.
