Quick, yet silly, question! The bouncy seats for your twins...do they bounce or are they the vibrating kind that don't bounce? We have the papason seat that vibrates, and so far the kids aren't fond of it at all. They are just 4 weeks old, too, so it's kind of soon to have them in it. They may grow to love it. But...my husband and I were wondering if a seat that actually bounces might be more entertaining for them as they get older.

What kind of bouncy seat has worked for you?

    Thanks!

Someone gave me a Papasan, and I didn't like it just for that reason! It did not bounce!! The bouncing was always soothing to my babies, and I used them from day 1!

    Shelby,

We have two of the vibrating papasan chairs, and my girls didn't really take to them until they were maybe two months old. One of my daughters still naps in her papasan chair some of the time, but overall I don't think they're as soothing as the chairs that actually bounce.

we have one true bouncer and one that rocks and vibrates, both are fisher price, and the truth is the bouncy one really helped in the beginning, during fussy times, i would hold one and plop the other in the bouncer with a pacifier and bounce one in my arms and the other in the chair with my foot....and would you believe the one in the bouncy seat usually calmed down faster.....also really good for drifting off, i think they find the rhythmic bouncing calming....

My bouncers vibrated and bounced. They never cared for the vibrating, but when they figured out how to kick their feet, they loved it. It would make them bounce and the toys would move. It provided a lot of entertainment for them.

I could not survive without the two bouncy chairs we have. Both are the Rainforest style by Fisher Price I believe. The babies love to bounce, vibrate and just recently have enjoyed the activity bar that clicks into the chairs. It has been especially helpful when you have two hungry babies. I can be feeding one and bouncing the other with my foot. I highly recommend them!

I had a papasan and a bouncy seat. My daughter liked the papasan and my son liked the bouncy seat. When Abby first came home from the NICU, she wouldn't sleep in her bassinet (they had her elevated for reflux in the hospital), so for the first few nights, she "slept" in the papasan. It was the perfect size for my little preemies - I liked the way the cushions hugged them in there. I used a fleecy head/body supporter in the bouncy seat until they got bigger. My son liked to sit and watch the toy bar (I had the Fisher Price Aquarium one). Neither really cared for the vibration - at least it didn't seem to make a difference either way with them.

Sadly, they have outgrown their seats and I am passing them along to a woman at work who is pregnant with twin girls. I am glad they will get some more use.

We have a bouncy and rocker too and both babies actually prefer the rocker, they will sit in the bouncy when they are in a good mood, but when playtime is over, they want out of that seat, with the rocker I just turn on the vibration and it calms them down, so I think it all depends on the baby. Although mine aren't much on swings or going to sleep with motion, they would rather be held for 10 minutes and then laid down and butt patted.
