Bouncers

My baby girls are 7 weeks old and my friend told me that it was bad to put the bouncers on the vibrating mode.. is it bad for the babies?? Has anyone else heard of this before? :huh:

I personally haven't. We used ours and they seem fine. Maybe she thinks it jossles their heads about? Did you ask her why?

 

We had ours vibrating every SECOND they were in them, so if it's bad for the babies, it didn't effect mine (well, not that I know of anyway). Why would they make them vibrate if it were bad for them? If our vibration was turned off, the babies would instantly wake & cry. They LOVED it. I didn't love the extreme amt of batteries (yeah for rechargable) but whatever worked in the beginning was fine with me!

 

Never heard of that before. Did she give you a reason as to why? I have used the vibrate mode for all 3 of my kids without issue, I think

No. it's not harmful.
My little ones HATED them until about a week ago though, haha.

 

I haven't heard that before either. We had a vibration mode in the bassinet part of the pnp, so I never even thought twice about putting the bouncy seat on vibration mode.

 

Ummm...ok. My girls loved the vibration and they are ok!

It's not harmful. I would imagine your friend probably read the book (forget which one) that said NOT to use the vibration on bouncy's because then they won't be able to put themselves to sleep. I don't agree w/ that, especially so young b/c they can't self soothe.

 

That's ridiculous. One of my girls loves the bouncer with vibrations and one loves the swing. It is NOT harmful.

 

We used the vibration until the batteries ran down--and then we were just too darn lazy to change the batteries and stopped using it. I think the craziness my girls have is purely genetic and not vibration related!

 

I can't see how it would be harmful and have never heard that. We use it off and on with DS1 but DS2 hates it.
