OK. It's time for me to start shopping (which I did yesterday - purchasing the double snap n go and 2 infant car seats). I have been looking at bouncers and swings this morning and would like to know what people recommend. Particulary for bouncers since I don't think they can use a Swing for awhile yet. However, I came across the "Graco Swing 'N Bounce 3-in-1 Swing" on target.com. Anyone have one of these? Seems like a good idea to me but would like to know what people think. Here's a link to the Graco site:

    Thanks!

Well, I registered for that swing at target. I thought it looked like a great idea, but I have no clue how well it works yet. I can tell you though that with my daughter she was in her swing right away. It reclined enough for a newborn and she loved the motion. In some cases it was the best or only napping spot in the house! I found the bouncer was the second favorite and I liked the ease of being able to move it from room to room easily.

    Hi,

I bought this one from my friend who has twin boys second hand. While we haven't used it with our kids yet, she seemed to like it for her boys.

Btw, thanks for the supportive post last night :).

No problem...that's what TS is here for. It's so nice to know that other people feel the same way that we do!

i got a swing so fa -- waiting on bouncer. the swing is the fischer price baby papasan nature one. it swings side to side, not front to back which i heard babies like. i was pleased to see my hospital has several of these swings in their nursery. the tiniest babies were happy swinging away and it made me feel like i got a good one if the hospital is using it.

That swing seems great! I have a swing from my dd and I've borrowed one from my sister (but not as fancy!)
I've also been able to borrow the double snap and go stroller from my sister. She loved it! It's very light and portable and so easy to move the babies from the car to the stroller! Good luck and enjoy shopping! :)

We have the Graco Snugride carseats and, instead of buying 2 big swings, bought two Graco SnugGlider Infant Car Seat Swing Frames, which was recommended to me by other TS members - the car seats snap right in and VOILA - Swing!!! The boys love it and I saved some space and some money. We bought ours when the boys were 2 mos old but b/c it uses the car seat, i imagine even younger/smaller babies can use them.

    P.S. - you're going to LOVE LOVE LOVE your dbl snap 'n go . . .

I have no experience with that particular swing- but I did see it at Target and thought it was such a neat idea! I plan on buying 2 bouncers and I already have one swing. My son didn't really care a whole lot for the swing- but loved his bouncy seat! Plus I found I could prop it up some and use it as a makeshift high chair when he was first eating solids!

It depends on what your babies like! My boys did not care for the bouncy seats at all. So I ran out and bought a 2nd papasan swing (consignment for very little $). My boys were in it from almost day one? that was the only thing they would sleep in at times. The frame on mine was like a backwards L so it did not stick out like other swings so two did not take up much more space than than one. by the time they outgrew the swings, they were ready for the exersaucers! I got two diff ones (one i had from dd) and I bought hte fold up one. Those were perfect for travel too. HTH and GOODLUCK

    Hey!

We don't know what our twin boys will like yet (they aren't due till the end of October - fingers crossed :) )

But my friends that have babies and one with twins said the Fisher Price Glide N' Swing is the way to go, which is what we ended up getting. It glides and has a little bounce like a bouncy seat and is also a regular swing.

The one thing all my friend emphasised was to make sure whatever type of swing you pick that it has an AC Adapter, because if your little ones love it - they will basically be living in it and you'll be going through batteries like crazy.

    Hope this helps.

My two LOVED the aquarium bouncy seat from Target. They also liked swings, but moreso when they were older.

We had the Ocean Wonders Aquarium Swing and my two loved it. They loved that it would go side to side and front to back. Side to side really helped them fall asleep.

That swing looks pretty cool I never saw it when I was registering. Anyway the Graco swings recline so you can use them right away. The things that saved my life were the baby papisan chairs. They pretty much slept in them for the first 2 months. Now they absolutly love their big Graco swing. During the day I sit it up and they look around and play with the toys on it and at night I recline it if I can't get them to sleep in thier crib. They love the play mat with all the things hanging from it. They started liking that at around 1 1/2 months. Now that they can hold their heads up pretty good they love the bumbo chairs. I would also get a battery operated mobile for the crib, mine love it, the other one I always had to crank every 3 minutes.

I happened to be given a cradle swing which swings side to side or front to back. Both of my twins love them, and have been using them for the past four months. I used one as soon as someone gave me one and I should have had one from the get go. My daughter just loves the swing. My son is starting to become less fond of the swing since he is ready to be on the go. They are five months old now. My son swings front to back in a sitting up position and she swings side to side reclined. I totally recommend the cradle style swing and the Fisher Price company makes several different styles. The ones I have are Ocean Wonders, but they also make a Rainforest one too. I got my second one from Babies R Us online. It has five speeds, plays different tunes, has a mobile that turns and lights up, and it also plays nature and ocean sounds. It really is a godsend. The only drawback I have come across is the speed at which batteries are killed and the fact that since it does work like a cradle, it takes up more room than others. So first of all get rechargable batteries and consider what kind of space you have. Bouncy seats, my favorite ones are the fisher price ones because they have interactvie toy bars that hook on and play music that they can restart while strapped in. This has been especially useful for my daughter since she has to sit up after she eats due to acid reflux. The seats also vibrate which was really good for them when they were smaller and they are loving the music and toy bars now as they grow. Just my ideas from the trenches.

My concern with the swing that the carseat attaches to is......it is only good for that car seat make and model! If you plan on having more children, the carseat would be outdated and thus, so would the swing. I would think that this is a waste of money if you plan to have more children. I would think that the resale value would be limited because it is only good for 1 type of sarseat.

It is hard to decide. I am not due until the first week of October and happened to be on another site and eveyrone told me not to get both because you won't know what they will like. I wound up getting a swing at my shower and bought another one then I also got two bouncy chairs at my shower that turn into rocking chairs when they are toddlers.

I figured if they didnt like the swing but like the bouncers I could always sell the swings and get some diapers or clothes. The bouncy chairs I figured would be easy to transport if I needed to and if they didnt like them when they were younger they could use when they were older and I wouldn't be missing out.

    Just a thought.

we got 2 Ocean Wonders Cradle Swings and the matching bouncy seats - they were both lifesavers!!! the twins spent the first 3 months in the swings - it was the only place that soothed them enough to sleep..and the bouncy's were invaluable especially once we started solids - they HATED the Bumbo with a firey burning passion and it is still practically brand new in the box!

HI! Mine are 12 weeks on Tues and they love their bouncy seats. They are in them all the time - and it's nice to be able to move them around the house - we're in a townhouse w/ 3 levels we use all the time. I have 3 bouncy seats - 2 I keep in the living room and 1 i move around - into the kichen or basement - wherever i need it - oh and I bring it places.

my bouncy seats bounce when the babies move and have vibrators (a must!).

I did just buy a swing b/c everyone raves about them but mine don't love it. Not sure they ever will - maybe if I had started them in it earlier.

So - my advice is to make sure you have at least 2 bouncy seats - I promise you'll use them a ton. Then maybe get a swing at a consignment store or craigs list or something since they're more expensive.

Hope that helps - good luck!

My twins absolutely loved (and still do) the Fisher Price Take-Along Swings. We borrowed one from a friend and then I bought one off our local Craig's List pretty cheaply. They don't take up much space and they fold up so easily that we take them with us when we go somewhere for an extended period of time. They also have lights and music which they like. We really didn't have the space in our living room for 2 full size swings so these were perfect. I tried other travel models but they didn't swing as well. These have nice deep seats and are very comfortable and secure. We have the older models which are called the Deluxe Take-Along Swing. The newer ones are the Aquarium Take-Along Swings which are the same thing but with an aquarium theme. My twins put a lot of mileage on them. They slept in them a lot in the beginning and still do at times. They have really been life-savers. I am sad that they will grow out of them soon. Good luck!
